CAS Self-Reflection Learning Outcomes

This document outlines a self-reflection framework for students to assess their learning from CAS activities at four different levels. The levels progress from a basic awareness and description of strengths and growth areas to developing new leadership skills and gaining perspective that influences life beyond school. Students are encouraged to show perseverance by continuing with challenging activities and to identify how their existing skills were strengthened or new abilities emerged from their experiences.

Self Reflection

Level 1

Level 2

Level 3

Level 4

I can describe
my strengths
and areas of
growth

I learnt a lot about

myself from the
activities and know
my personal
strengths and areas
for growth
I completed the
activity

I learnt a lot about

myself from the
activities and the
way I perceive
things

I learnt a lot about myself

from the activities and my
perspective has
changed/influenced other
aspects of my life

Even though it was a

struggle I continued
with the activity
because it made me
feel good
the activities
required new skills
but they are ones
any student of my
age would be
expected to have

Even though it was a

struggle I continued with
the activity as others
were relying on me

I started the
activity but
didn't
continue as I
got too busy
the activities
required me to
practise skills
already
acquired

the activities further

developed my
existing skills

the activities developed

new skills that a mature
adult would use in
leadership
