Inquiry questions
Factual What is the environment?
The environment is our surroundings and
affects our ability to live on the earth. The
air we breathe, the water that covers most
of the earth's surface, the plants and
animals around us, and much more.
What is happening to the
environment?
Our environment is in need of a lot of work.
The ozone layer is quickly rotting away; the
waters are polluted; and the rain forest is
rapidly shrinking in size due to the
ignorance of land developers. So why isn't
anything being done? Everyone thinks if
they ignore the problem, it will go away.
Granted there are many people who do
more than their share when it comes to
taking care of our planet, but it still isn't
enough. We all need to get together and
start recycling our plastics and papers,
sorting our trash and reduce cutting down
our trees. After all, we only have one planet.
What are the natural aspects of
the environment?
The natural environment encompasses all
living and nonliving things occurring
naturally on Earth or some region thereof. It
is an environment that encompasses the
interaction of all living species. Climate,
weather, and natural resources that affect
human survival and economic activity.
Conceptual How do we destroy the
environment?
These are the ways we destroyed our
environment Population Explosion
Soil pollution
Water Pollution
Air Pollution
Global Warming and Ozone Layer
Depletion
Why is it important to care about
the Environment?
A clean environment is essential for
healthy livingThe more you dont care about our
environment, the more it will become
polluted with contaminants and toxins that
have a harmful impact on our health.
The overall temperature of Earths
atmosphere is increasingGlobal warming is causing climate patterns
to change. Climate change is real and we
humans are largely responsible because
our activities have released large amounts
of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse
gases into the atmosphere. The small
changes in the average temperature of the
environment can lead to frequent
occurrences of dangerous weather patterns
and devastating storms.
The Biodiversity DestructionBiodiversity refers to the variety of plants,
animals, and other living things in our world.
It can be negatively influenced by habitat
loss and degradation due to human activity,
climate change, and pollution, among other
things.
Debatable Is man greatest threat to the
Environment?
The air we breathe is mainly consisted of
oxygen. Air is vital to us, plants and
animals. Human inhale oxygen and exhale
carbon dioxide. On the other hand, plants
use carbon dioxide to perform
photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide to
oxygen.
Everyday human dumped rubbish into the
rivers and seas. As a result, our rivers and
seas are seriously polluted and we drink
these water. By constantly emitting
poisonous gases and fumes from factories,
cars and other devices, we are threatening
our environment. All of these actions
caused pollution to our environment.
Article on Environmental
Issue
The Mount Tom coal plant in Holyoke had
been contaminating the air and water for
over 50 years. In 2014, a campaign closed
the dirty plant and move toward healthy,
sustainable energy.
Now, with 40,000 tons of toxic coal ash and
contamination having seeped into the water
and farmlands from the smokestack, we
continue our fight to ensure a thorough
clean-up of the site and to bring renewable
energy and sustainable jobs to Holyoke,
one of the cities with the highest rates of
unemployment in the United States of
America.
My Conclusion
My conclusion is that we the humans
should stop polluting the environment. We
should try to save it not harm it. We should
try to save the environment in all the
possible means we can save it.
