Running HAL with Cadence Tool Guide

1. Create an account on server 10.1.102.19 by emailing Shyam Kumar K M. He will provide login credentials. 2. Install Reflection X/VNC tool and contact Lijo/Elizabeth if any issues installing required files from the shared location. 3. Use Reflection X/VNC to connect to the server and open a terminal. Source the cshrc file and change to the working directory using cd commands.

How to Run HAL using Cadence Tool

1. Create a login account @ server [Link] . Send a mail to Shyam Kumar


K M for that. He will create account and will share the login details
2. Install Reflection X / VNC tool.
Note: Set up files for Reflection X and cshrc files are shared @
([Link] . Please contact Lijo/Elizabeth if you have any
doubts during installation.

Using Reflection X / VNC, connect to server and open terminal.


Open konsole .
Source cshrc file.
In Konsole, change to working directory using cd command

7. Run the command irun -hal filename.v


8. It will perform lint checking and will show a command like this.

[Link] the command as shown ncbrowse -cdslib


./INCA_libs/[Link]/[Link] -hdlvar ./INCA_libs
[Link] a new window will be opened like this

[Link] can view error and warnings by selecting each items in this GUI. Since
we have got only 2 licences, better convert the report to csv file by File ->
Generate report.
In the file name field enter a filename as [Link] and click Generate.
Thus HAL report CSV file be created in the working folder.
