Spec Script Structure Guide

The document provides templates and guidelines for writing spec scripts for hour-long procedurals and sitcoms. For hour-long procedurals, the template is divided into 5 acts with commercial breaks in between each act. The acts progress from introducing stories to developing them to resolving them. For sitcoms, the template introduces two plotlines in the first act and then alternates between developing each plotline through the third act where both are resolved, possibly with a stinger. Key guidelines mention making sure characters and their motivations are accurate to the show being written for.
