1.9 Course Exercises
1.9.1 General
The purpose of this course is to teach you how to configure a complete application
using System 800xA.
At the end of this training course you will have created a small application that will
control a small process in the controller together with an operator workplace that
forms the HMI.
You will learn about programming the controller itself and also how to connect the
controller to the process graphics. You will learn how to create process graphics,
alarm handling, history logging and display.
During the course you will build up this application, step by step, via the different
exercises that have been prepared for you.
The process has the following plant configuration:

The Operator workplace will consist of three process displays with navigation between
them:

Tank1 area
Tank2 area
You will learn how to create the displays and navigation elements. You will also learn
how to use the Graphics Builder to configure the views.
Workplace design and configuration is dealt with later in the course.
Finally you will learn how to handle alarms and signal logging and display.
The following table shows the main objects. The Tag name is simplified, but can be

1.9.2 Objectives
One goal is that you learn to program and configure a complete application for
AC800M controllers, using the Control Builder and System 800xA. To do this you
will set-up a complete new project from scratch.
The exercises are adapted in such a way, that you will understand the work flow that
should be followed for any project. You can apply what you learn here to your own
project.
