Key Purpose of the Role:


To provide subject matter expertise on work flow management and ensure we get the highest quality
from our suppliers while keeping the costs controlled thus reducing our reliance on a particular
supplier.

Principal Responsibilities:
Responsibilities

Experience designing & development in Core Java/J2EE/ JSP and from an Engineering
point of view.
Ability to do deep dive on technical areas and get the best outcome out of technically
challenging situations.
Able to get hands on and be a role model for vendor technical teams.
Understand the telecom domain well enough to act as domain focal point
Understand need of multiple projects and communicate them divisionally and/or crossdivisionally
Contribute to the definition of the team processes and standards
Manage concurrent application releases and large engineering teams to deliver quality
software releases on time
Drive strong engineering practices in the team
Ability to debug complex issues and provide the right solution

Person Specification:
Essential Skills (Skills without which the person cannot perform the role, limit to a
maximum of four skills only )

Hands-on coding ability and to trouble shoot and fix Java/J2EE/.Net, Oracle, Weblogic and
Working knowledge of test driven development, ability to use refactoring techniques,
performance tuning of application and automated test script development
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and debugging kills

Overall Skills and Experience (Include skills that in addition to the essential skills are
required for the person to perform the role in a better way )

Experience in technical of complex project deliveries end-to-end with matrix managed

structure.
Experience developing and designing Enterprise Application development Projects both
from an Engineering and Project Management perspective
Self starter who can lead the way by setting up prototypes for vendor technical teams to
follow
Contribute to the definition of the team processes and standards
In depth understanding of Telecom product offering

Qualifications
Essential

Possess B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or related field


Possess typically 2 - 5 years of previous software engineering or related experience, out of
which 2+ years experience as a designer
Strong Java/J2EE, Oracle, Database skills User Interface design skills
Provide technical and functional guidance and direction to team members
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

Desirable

Working with large Telco service providers is a plus


Telecom certifications
Java/Oracle certifications
Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
