Hi and welcome to the 19th edition of the Fantasy Freakos rave for 2012. Weve been dealt a massive blow in the lead up to this round already with DT gun Dane Swan
suspended for two matches by the Magpies. This will cause plenty of headaches for 31% of the competition, and with trades at a bare minimum, some tough decisions need to
be made. Looking ahead though, our attention now turns to the all-important finals series, but even if you havent made the top-eight, theres no need to despair. Finish the year
off strongly and take that momentum into 2013.

STEVIE J THE MIDFIELDER
The transition from being an elusive forward to a ball-winning midfielder is now
complete for Steve Johnson. Since Round 16 he has become a permanent fixture in
the Cats midfield, attending an average of 20 centre bounces a match since then, up
from four a match prior to that. This has been reflected in his scores, averaging 119
DT points a game (not including Round 18) which is clearly the most of any Geelong
player. He has won more of the ball in the midfield than ever before, winning 67% of
his disposals in that zone, which has resulted in a career-low 25% return inside the
forward 50. His scoreboard impact has dropped away as well, averaging only one
goal a game which is the lowest return of his career.
His move into the middle has had an adverse effect on Paul Chapman, with Chappy
now becoming a permanent forward. His centre bounce attendances have dropped
by six a game from Round 16, as to have his scores, averaging 80 points a game
down from 106 a match between Rounds 1-15 which was ranked No.1 at the club.
If you are looking to upgrade a forward, then based on these numbers I would be
avoiding Chappy and jumping on Stevie J, with the latter likely to post better scores
in the remaining games.

With Swanny out of the equation, that only leaves one man for the job, and although
he doesnt feature in the below table, its hard to go past Gary Ablett. In his previous
match against Greater Western Sydney in Round 7, he was serviceable with 33
disposals and 106 points. His recent scores have been outstanding as always,
averaging 141 from his past three matches, and he goes into this round with returns of
143 and 152 in his past two games at Metricon Stadium. Enough said!

ROUND 20 CAPTAIN CHOICES
Having reached the business end of the season, from this week onwards I will provide
you with the leading captain options for the round, which will include their last three
games against that weeks opponent, with 3 being their most recent match (finals
are included). Looking at this weeks options, the safe choice would have been to go
with Dane Swan, but after his off field misdemeanour we can now put a line through
him. If we look at the best option based on numbers alone, then Beau Waters has to
be considered. A riskier choice, he has an amazing recent record against Geelong,
averaging 133 points a game in his past three. He was the Eagles best in last years
preliminary final, collecting 38 disposals and 11 marks on his way to 140 points, but
given the importance of this week, I would advise against making such a move.

years Round 14 clash (107). In 2010 he could only manage 79 points,
while in 2009 he was injured in the opening minutes and finished with a
