Profiling
S690QL can be easily profiled using conventional methods of oxy-gas and plasma flame cutting.
Some thicknesses may require pre-heating for more details please contact our sales office.
Forming
Cold Forming
S690QL can be readily cold formed. Flame cut edges in the bending area should be ground before cold forming
see recommended radii below.

Hot Forming
Hot forming is not recommended as this will alter the original quenched and tempered condition and re-quenching
and tempering will not guarantee the original properties. Should you have any questions, please contact the
sales office.
Welding
Due to S690QLs high yield strength, care should be taken during welding in order to avoid hydrogen cracking.
For further information regarding welding, preheating and consumables please contact the sales office.

Note: IMS UK and its suppliers undertake continual material development and the data is a general guide, accurate
at the time of printing. Buyers and users should satisfy themselves as to the suitability of the selected steel for their
particular application.
