1.0 PRELIMINARIES.
1.1 PROGRAMME OF WORKS.
The MC has made a good progress to catch up with lost time.
Now working on third floor Grid 5-9/A-F, formwork, steel fixing,
hollow pot laying, which is within the programme
On Finishing work, Ground floor backfilling, First floor walling,
tend to fall behind schedule.
1.2 MATERIAL TEST RESULTS
No material test results received this week.
Cubes for columns and slab for Third floor columns grid 5-9/A-F
and fourth floor slab grid 1-4 were prepared.

1.3 SAFETY AND HEALTH
a. Access on Site; Safe access on site is not good and the MC
advised to ensure safe access. (Outstanding 1)
b. Ladders; Ladders are to be provided for good access of high
heights as well as to make a good landing as you start the
ground floor staircase as the place is not safe for walking
through. (Outstanding 1)
c. Edge Work; The contractor is Urged to construct guard rails on
all edges from which a person is likely to fall to a height of more
than two meters. (Outstanding 1)
d. Warning Tapes and Signs; the contractor is urged to make
good signs to warn person on any falling objects, unsafe areas
and any other written warning. Also warning tapes should be
provided along edges and open side of staircase. (Outstanding
1)
e. Protective clothing; the MC and the Subcontractors have been
reminded to ensure workers are provided with appropriate
protective gear as per the regulations. All parties should also
ensure their workers are in protective clothing and gears in all
times on site. (Outstanding 1)
f. Safety nets; the MC has started to erect safety nets to prevent
falling objects causing injury to workers and neighbors. (On
progress)
g. Sanitary Facilities; these are not being maintained well and no
water. The MC to make sure that these facilities are well
maintained and provide antiquate water. (Outstanding 1)
2.0 MAIN CONTRACTORS WORKS.
2.1 SUBSTRUCTURE

2.2 SUPERSTRUCTURE
2.2.1 CONCRETE WORKS
Concreting of 3rd floor columns Grid 5-9/A-F complete
Formwork, Steel fixing and Hollow blocks laying to third floor slab
Grid 5-9/A-F is at 90%
Formwork, to fifth floor slab Grid 1-4 is on progress at 85%
Concreting to third floor slab Grids 5-9/A-F is expected to be done
on Monday 14th Dec
Inspection on reinforcements to above will be done by 12th Dec
afternoon. MC to Follow up.
2.3 MASONRY WALLING
Masonry wall has started on first floor (1000mm parapet wall)
2.4 PLASTERING
Plaster started on first floor ceiling. This has been stopped due to
poor workmanship till the MC corrects on the instructions given
on site.
3.0 SUBCONTRACTORS ON SITE
3.1 ELECTRICAL SUBCONTRACTOR
Electrical subcontractor is on site carrying first fix works
3.2 PLUMBING SUBCONTRACTOR
Plumbing subcontractor is also on site fixing sleeves and
drainage pipes.
3.3 CONTRACTORS CO-ORDINATION MEETINGS
A co-ordination meeting between the MC and the Subs was
conducted on Tuesday 8th at 1130 hours. Below are the notes
taken;

a) Delay on laying of conduits and drainage pipes has been rampant and
urged the subs to cooperate to finish on agreed time.
b) MC asked the subs to ensure that they report to work on time and not
to leave early
c) MC asked the Subcontractors to add on labour to finish their parts on
time
Electrical Subcontractor Matters
a) Requested the MC to give them two full working days to lay their
conduits after he finishes his work.
b) Asked the MC to make sure his people are keen not to break their
pipes.
c) Esb agreed to cooperate with the MC and to work within his
programme.
Plumbing Subcontractor Matters
a) Requested the MC to speed up the construction of Store to keep their
materials safe.
Clerk of works Matters
a) Asked the MC and the Subcontractors to submit a list of Submitted and
approved shop drawings and samples.
b) Asked the MC to build a Sample room for all approved samples.
c) Asked the MC to build up nice offices and stores for subcontractors and
look at sanitary facilities which are not good.
