Implementation Status Overview
The Project is proceeding satisfactorily toward meeting its Project Development Objectives. Overall, 24 contracts with an aggregate contract value of US$8 million are under
implementation with 17% of the project financing disbursed to date. Of these,13 contracts for priority investments to improve and rehabilitate the primary and secondary wastewater
networks of Sarajevo have been awarded, of which 10 have been completed. In terms of results, 9.6 km of sewage network has been repaired or rehabilitated of the 16 km. end of
project target. The Project is performing well against most result indicators. More than 20,000 household connections have benefited from sewage network rehabilitation, against an

CY 2012 target of 10,000. Sewage networks blockages have been reduced and exceed end of Project targets. Over 20,000 connections are benefiting from improved sanitation
network services. However, the Project still lags behind on the wastewater treatment results since this contract has not been awarded to date. Preliminary designs have been
completed, prequalification of contractors is nearly completed and bidding documents have been submitted for review. This contract is expected to be awarded by April 2013.
Substantial progress has been made under Component B in strengthening institutional systems, including improvements to the Sarajevo Water Utility Management Information
System. This is expected to improve the processing time for financial transactions and improved reporting across departments of the Utility.
