Case (ii)
Ramya

Problem: 01
Seven friends Kumar, Sita, Ravi, Ramya, Divya,
Suresh, Rajesh are left for seven different cities
Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata,
Hyderabad, not necessarily in the same order, each
one on a different day of a week.
Sita left for Delhi on Thursday. Only one person left
between suresh and ramya. Divya left immediately
after rajesh but immediately before kumar. Divya
not left on Tuesday. Ramya not left on Monday. The
person left for Kolkata on Tuesday. The person
going to pune left in the weekend. Suresh left for
mumbai. Rajesh not left for Bangalore, Chennai.
Ramya not left for Bangalore.

immediately before Kumar
Rajesh

Kumar
* Suresh left for mumbai.
Suresh = Mumbai

Step 1:
write the complete information in table.

* Ramya not left for Bangalore.

Rajesh # Bangalore, Chennai

Step 4:
* Only one person sits between Ramya and suresh.
from step2 ramya not left on monday so suresh may
be left on monday. for this condition step3 case(ii)
not valid. But we have another choice also Ramya
may be left on Friday or Sunday.

Step 5:
* Divya left immediately after rajesh but
immediately left before kumar.
from step2 Divya not left on Tuesday, so step 4
Case(ii) and (iii) not valid, because the order of
Divya should be like this.
Rajesh
Divya

So the only possibility is step 4 case(i)

Step 8:
from step 7 only three cities remaining Bangalore,
Chennai, Hyderabad.
* if Rajesh is not going to Bangalore, Chennai
means the remaining city is Hyderabad (Rajesh
goes to Hyderabad)
* Now the remaining two cities are Bangalore and
Chennai. if Ramya not going to Bangalore means
she should go for Chennai (Ramya goes to
Chennai)
* Finally (Divya should go for Bangalore).
