Part 1
1.1 What is Business Plan?
A business plan is a formal statement of a set of business goals, the reasons why they are
believed attainable, and the plan for reaching those goals. It may also contain background
information about the organization or team attempting to reach those goals. The business goals
being attempted may be for-profit or non-profit. For-profit business plans typically focus on
financial goals. Non-profit and government agency business plans tend to focus on service goals,
although non-profits may also focus on maximizing profit. Business plans may also target
changes in perception and branding by the customer, client, tax-payer, or larger community. A
business plan having changes in perception and branding as its primary goals is called a
marketing plan. Operational plans describe the goals of an internal organization, working group
or department. Project plans, sometimes known as project frameworks, describe the goals of a
particular project. They may also address the project's place within the organization's larger
strategic goals.

1.2 Business plans may be internally or externally focused.

Externally
Externally focused plans target goals that are important to external stakeholders, particularly
financial stockholders. They typically have detailed information about the organization or team
attempting to reach the goals. With for-profit entities, external stockholders include investors and
customers. External stock-holders of non-profits include donors and the clients of the non-profit's
services. For government agencies, external stockholders include tax-payers, higher-level
government agencies, and international lending bodies such as the IMF, the World Bank, various
economic agencies of the UN, and development banks.

Page | 2

Internally
Internally focused business plans target intermediate goals required to reach the external goals.
They may cover the development of a new product, a new service, a new IT system, a
restructuring of finance, the refurbishing of a factory or a restructuring of the organization. An
internal business is often developed in conjunction with a balanced scorecard or a list of critical
success factors. This allows success of the plan to be measured using non-financial measures.
Business plans that identify and target internal goals, but provide only general guidance on how
they will be met are called strategic plans. We are seven entrepreneurs are winning to start a
business and for our business we chose Handmade product which, is one of the growing sector
in our local economy. We are going to start a business firm by the name of RONGDHONU

Secondary Source
Secondary sources are those, which simplify the process of finding and evaluating the primary
literature. They tend to be works, which repackage, reorganize, reinterpret, summarize, index or
otherwise "add value" to the new information, reported in the primary literature. Secondary data
may be available which is entirely appropriate and wholly adequate to draw conclusions and
answer the question or solve the problem. To know exactly how to prepare the report, we have
talked to some bank personnel who are involved in the decision making of project financing.
Secondary sources were consulted for an understanding of techniques of writing feasibility
studies and for other relevant information. Few publications and web pages were also browsed.

We have also collected our data from the following secondary sources:

Glass painting:

Color or color - is the visual perceptual property

corresponding in humans to the categories called red, blue,
yellow, green and others. Color derives from the spectrum of
light interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of
the light receptors. Color categories and physical specifications of color are also associated with
objects or materials based on their physical properties such as light absorption, reflection, or
emission spectra. By defining a color space, colors can be identified numerically by their
coordinates. Because perception of color stems from the varying spectral sensitivity of different
types of cone cells in the retina to different parts of the spectrum, colors may be defined and
quantified by the degree to which they stimulate these cells. These physical or physiological
quantifications of color, however, do not fully explain the psychophysical perception of color
appearance.
The science of color is sometimes called chromatics, colorimeter, or simply color science. It
includes the perception of color by the human eye and brain, the origin of color in materials,
color theory in art, and the physics of electromagnetic radiation in the visible range

Glass is an amorphous solid (non-crystalline) material that exhibits a glass transition, which is
the reversible transition in amorphous materials from a hard and relatively brittle state into a
molten or rubber-like state. Glasses are typically brittle and can be optically transparent. The
most familiar type of glass is soda-lime glass, which is composed of about 75% silicon dioxide
(SiO2), sodium oxide (Na2O) from sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), lime (CaO), and several minor
additives. The term glass is often used to refer only to this specific material. Silicate glass
generally has the property of being transparent. Because of this, it has many applications. One of
its primary uses is as a building material, traditionally as small panes set into window openings
in walls, but in the 20th-century often as the major cladding material of many large buildings.
Because glass can be formed or molded into any shape, and also because it is a sterile product, it
has been traditionally used for vessels: bowls, vases, bottles, jars and glasses. In its most solid
forms it has also been used for paperweights, marbles, and beads. Glass is both reflective and
refractive of light, and these qualities can be enhanced by cutting and polishing to make optical
lenses, prisms and fine glassware. Glass can be colored by adding metallic salts, and can also be
painted. These qualities have led to the extensive use of glass in the manufacturing of art objects
and in particular, stained glass windows. Although brittle, glass is extremely durable, and many
examples of glass fragments exist from early glass-making cultures.

A brush: Is a tool with bristles, wire or other filaments, used for cleaning, grooming hair,
makeup, painting, surface finishing and for many other purposes. It is one of the most basic and
versatile tools known to mankind and the average household may contain several dozen varieties.
It generally consists of a handle or block to which filaments are affixed either parallel- or

Page | 11

perpendicular-wise, depending on the way the brush is to be

gripped during use. The material of both the block and bristles
or filaments is chosen to withstand hazards of its application,
such as corrosive chemicals, heat or abrasion.

Naksi kantha:

Clothing: Is fiber and textile material worn on the body. The wearing of clothing is a feature
of nearly all human societies. The amount and type of clothing worn is dependent on physical
stature, gender, as well as social and geographic considerations. Physically, clothing serves many

Page | 12

purposes: it can serve as protection from weather, and can enhance safety during hazardous
activities such as hiking and cooking. It protects the wearer from rough surfaces, rash-causing
plants, insect bites, splinters, thorns and prickles by providing a barrier between the skin and the
environment.

Yarn is a long continuous length of interlocked fibers, suitable for use in the production of
textiles, sewing, crocheting, knitting, weaving, embroidery, and rope making. Thread is a type of
yarn intended for sewing by hand or machine. Modern manufactured sewing threads may be
finished with wax or other lubricants to withstand the stresses involved in sewing. Embroidery
threads are yarns specifically designed for hand or machine embroidery.

delicate and well crafted saris and men in their very precious punjabis it was lovely to see
however I kept tugging at my kameez to make it look less creased, I felt very drab! It was a very
arty affair with poets, artists and writers all present. Speeches were given on the importance
of preserving these fabrics, traditions and practices. It was just beautiful and I am so glad
somebody had the creative to bring this all together. I have yet to go to Dhaka to see the floor but

3.4 Policy of Pricing:

Pricing plays a central role in economics. It balances demand and supply, provides an incentive
for new players or products, and distributes income between buyers and sellers. Therefore
pricing has a direct impact on the profit of our company, and on all other elements of the
company. However, it is one of the most overlooked and poorly understood areas of marketing,
For price and sales volume of its products are the single most important decisions. Ultimately,
the higher the price can be raised, assuming stable unit costs and sales volume, the higher the
profit. The relationship between these is represented by:
Profits = Prices x Quantities Sold - Total Costs.
Price is also important in relationships with customers. Price is the value placed on what is
exchanged, and the value at which a seller is prepared to exchange, and customers participate in
that exchange. Something of value is exchanged for satisfaction or utility. The major objective of
the pricing of products is product leadership in local market.

3.5 Marketing strategy elements

Determining primary and secondary market segments help we better understand the offering's
value to consumers. Segments are important for positioning and merchandising the offering to
ensure maximized sales at the established price point. For this reason, we determined the primary
and secondary market segments before setting the price.

Page | 22

Costs:
In order to make a profit, a business should ensure that its products are priced above their total
average cost. In the short-term, it may be acceptable to price below total cost if this price exceeds
the marginal cost of production so that the sale still produces a positive contribution to fixed
costs. Before setting the final price, we have considered the cost of raw materials, components
and other supplies and cost of operating expenses like salaries of employees, equipment repair,
depreciation, office expenses, insurance, accountant/ lawyer fees, taxes, etc.

Customers:
Consideration of customer expectations about price must be addressed. Ideally, a business should
attempt to quantify its demand curve to estimate what volume of sales will be achieved at given
prices. Demand set a selling on the price that the company can charge for its product. And
company cost set the floor. We want to charge a price that earns its cost of producing distribution
and selling the product including a fair return for its effort and risk.
