exercise of its powers under the Road Trafic Regulation
Act 1984 as amended, intends not less than 7 days from
the date of this notice to make an order the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Catsash Rd from its junction with Belmont Hill to
its junction with Old Roman Rd.
The alternative route is via A48 Chepstow Rd - Coldra
roundabout - B4237 The Coldra - Royal Oak Hill and
vice versa.
The reason for making the order is to enable golf
tournament trafic and pedestrians to move safely
around the golf course, and to reduce congestion and
ensure safe conditions along the highway for the SSE
Wales Senior Open Golf and the Celebrity Cup Golf
events.
The proposed order will be operative from 29th May 2015
and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18
months or until it is safe for the roads to reopen.
Vehicular access will be maintained for residents of
the two roads; pedestrian access will be available.
Exemptions will be available for vehicles displaying
permits issued by the Celtic Manor Resort.
It is anticipated that the closures will be in effect from
29th - 31st May 2015 (inc) and 4th - 5th July 2015 (inc)
between 7am and 6pm.
