Newcastle High School Teacher Charged In Student Sex Crime Investigation

A former Newcastle High School teacher and assistant football coach faces felony sexual battery
charges involving a female student. In court papers filed last Friday in McClain County, 33year-old Jared Feroli is accused of groping a female student older than 16 in his classroom.
Court papers show the incident occurred last Dec. 13.
A school custodian reported the incident and investigators say the girl
admits it happened. Feroli resigned from Newcastle High School in May.
"Teachers, any public servants should be held to a standard where they take
care and protect those they have authority over," Newcastle Police Detective
Kevin Morrissey said Tuesday.

The girl's family is also suing Feroli and the Newcastle School District in civil court.
Newcastle's Superintendent of Schools Tuesday said he had no comment.

Okay the truth is yes, this girl WILLINGLY had a relationship with the coach last
year. They were caught by other students, including myself, making out multiple
times. She came onto him at first one time during practice and eventually they got
into a relationship. She bragged about her relationship all the time during school, it
was pathetic, saying once she graduated they'd be together... yeh right-_anyways- rumors spread that she sent him nudes or they had sex- half these
rumors she spread herself. I knew this girl and although she was known for sleeping
around she did act like it. She willingly wanted to be in a committed relationship
with the coach, but once again- he should've never went through with it. And btw
get y'alls facts straight, she was his first thing with a minor. But what he did is
wrong and in can't believe they're JUST NOW dealing with this when a year ago all
of the student body knew about their relationship and the staff members just took it
as a joke.

She reported it a little after it happened. She talked to the cops and
principle and her parents. They were trying to keep it away from media.

Actually she wasn't known for sleeping around and it doesn't matter. He took
advantage of a 17 year old girl. She's also not the first student that he has done that
too. He needs to be in jail. Oh and I get my sources for going to that school during
the time and actually knowing the girl and what happened. You don't kiss someone
to show them a basketball move.

You're all very amusing~ So far the only person who I can see went to school at the
time this incident was happening, the only one who would have any real insight to
the situation at the time besides, freshmen and most sophomores (And yes the
students did have insight into what was going on. Half the school heard about it
before any type of Authorities ) Is Betty D'Angelillo. As I know she actually went to
this school at this time. Your all arguing over something you have no proof to either
way.

He was at Bishop McGuinness before this and has this reputation. I know several
parents that called and warned Newcastle when they first hired him. They chose to
do nothing.

I agree 100% Brittt. J-Lynn, nobody said it was her fault. Given the
report I just saw, there are a lot of unanswered questions. If he did do it
and is convicted of it, then I believe he should receive the maximum
punishment prescribed by law. Everybody likes to race to judge in cases
like this, but the rule is that you are presumed innocent until proven

like this, but the rule is that you are presumed innocent until proven
guilty. That is one of the most important rights each of us possesses and
should not be taken lightly by anyone. I know you may find this hard to
believe, but innocent people have been charged with crimes before and
they will be again. If you are so quick to judge, let us hope the next
innocent person charged with a crime is not you.
