Arrests in Thomasville Home Invasion

Three men were arrested for an armed home invasion that occurred in Thomasville, NC on December 2, 2014. The victim provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle, a black Chevrolet HHR. On December 11, police spotted a vehicle matching the description and containing three men matching the suspect descriptions. After a brief pursuit, one man fled on foot and was apprehended. 100 Block of Griffith Street, Thomasville, NC

Thomasville police have arrested three men in connection with a December 2nd home invasion
that occurred in the 100 block of Griffith Street.
The victim told police that three armed men entered his home and proceeded to rob him along
with three other people inside the residence. The victim was able to provide police with a
description of the suspects along with a description of the suspect vehicle.
On Thursday, December 11, 2014, at 3:30 p.m., an officer observed a black Chevrolet HHR
occupied by three individuals that matched the description given by the victim traveling on E.
Main Street. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the vehicle continued for a short
distance before stopping. Once the vehicle stopped, a rear passenger fled on foot. During the
foot pursuit by the officer, the suspect threw down a gun that was recovered by officers. The
suspect, Gerrell Horsley, was apprehended a short time later behind a house on Fifth Avenue.
Officers located evidence in the Chevrolet HHR that linked the suspects to the home invasion.
As a result, all three occupants of the vehicle were charged in connection with the armed
robbery.
Dontae Jamarr Wood, 31, of 2345 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, has been charged with first
degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession
of a firearm by convicted felon, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession with the intent to
manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule II, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wood received a
$100,000 secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail. Court date is set for
01/28/2015.

Desimond Kadeem Shaver, 23, of 402 East Council Street, Salisbury, has been charged with
first degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm,
possession of a firearm by convicted felon, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession with the
intent to manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule II, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Shaver
received a $200,000 secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail. Court date is set
for 01/28/2015.
Gerrell Dupre Horsley, 19, of Greensboro, has been charged with first degree burglary,
robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, conspiracy to commit
robbery, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule II, possession of
drug paraphernalia, and resist, delay, and obstruct a public officer. Horsley received a $50,000
secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail. Court date is set for 01/28/2015.
