Dates to Remember
PTO Nominations
We are now accepting nominations for
PTO officer positions.
All candidates for officer positions
must be PTO members.
Nomination forms will be sent home
this week.
Nomination forms must be received by
April 1
st
.

Officer Descriptions
President Serve as leader and key contact for the PTO; preside at all PTO meetings and
pass news to the membership; preside at all Executive Committee meetings; ex-officio
member of all committees except nomination; appoint special committees; review treasurers
reports; perform other duties usually pertaining to the office with principals approval (Effort:
year-round, on-going)

Vice President of Membership Act as an aide to the President; perform the duties of the
President in his/her absence; perform other duties as assigned by the President or Executive
Board (for example: assisting committees with planning/resources, overseeing membership,
helping identify replacement chairs; manages PTO database). (Effort: year-round, time varies
depending upon roles)

Vice President of Fundraising - Act as an aide to the President; perform the duties of the
President in his/her absence; perform other duties as assigned by the President or Executive
Board (for example: manages fundraising activities). (Effort: year-round, time varies depending
upon roles)

Secretary Keep the minutes of all Executive Board meetings; perform other duties as
assigned by the President of Executive Board (for example: prepare correspondence, keep the
calendar of events for the PTO, oversee PTO newsletter and Facebook account). (Effort: 3-4
hours per month, includes attending meetings and typing up minutes)

Treasurer Work closely with Bookkeeper in managing the PTO funds; obtain minimum of 3
bids when making >$1000 purchase. (Effort: 4-5 hours per month, average)

Riverside Elementary Relay for Life
May 2, 2014
Evans Town Center Park
6:00 pm

You are not required to attend the event, walk a certain distance, or
raise a specific amount of money.
We would like for all to come to the event, even if you are not a
member of the team.
There are many activities geared for children, and lots of food for you
and your family.
All events are designed to raise money to fight cancer. You may
make a donation on our Relay for Life webpage.

Easter Eggs will be on sale in the mornings during the week of March 27
th
-
April 4
th
all proceeds will go to Relay for Life! We will need parent
volunteers to help sell the eggs! Please see Julie Breton to sign up. Thank
you!

We join Relay to remember those weve lost to cancer, support those who
have cancer, and in hopes that we will defeat cancer in the future.
