Safety Rule 3

Before carrying out the work, a particular attention should be paid to the Rule 3 of the Tullows
safety rules (Working at height) and the boxes of the following checklist should be ticked according
to the work environment
WORKING AT HEIGHT YES NO NA
Work to be performed at 2 metres (6 feet) or higher above a working
surface, or where a fall could result in a significant injury

Has consideration been given to alternative approaches other than working
at heights

Have fixed platforms or scaffold structures been inspected and approved by
a competent person prior to use

Task Risk Assessment completed
Work being conducted using personal fall arrest system, full body harness,
shock absorber and lanyard

Workers have training in fall protection equipment and working at heights
Anchor points identified that can support weight of workers performing
work and ensure suitable anchor at all times

Fall arrest equipment visually inspected prior to use, defect free and fit to
use

If worker weighs over 310Ibs, heavy duty harness / lanyard to be worn
Work is not being performed alone, crew / team to perform work
Barriers and warning signs in place to prevent other people entering the
area

Are precautions in place to prevent falling objects
Rescue plan developed & in place
Interfaces identified and communications established
