Montage
Description:
Creating a new and fresh inspirational poster montage using a composite of
images and type. For the montage I had to blend two or more images with text. I
also had to exercise my photo design skills to make a layer mask to blend images,
and apply a filter.

Objective
Learn how to mask layers
Process
The first step I took was doing basic edits to the photograph with the sky and the
bird. I used the image adjustments to adjust the levels and vibrance of the background photograph. Then I cut Gandalf out of a picture and used the mask and
paintbrush tool to slowly blur his body into the photograph. I also used the
eyedropper tool to color the text from Gandalfs skin. I thought the color was
complimentary to the blue background. Then I used the filter tool to sharpen his
beard.

Objective
To create an appealing letterhead for a business
Process
I used Illustrator to create my logo. I used some effects for the shadows in the
fonts. I also played with the company name with the create outlines tab. I pulled
the l up on railing. For the fence on the side of the page I used the line tool and
colored it white. For the watermark on the letter head I used the opacity tool.

Use all the programs for one project
Process
I had to use at least two photos and 250 word body text. I also had
to wrap the text around an image using photoshop and InDesign. I
also had to use Illustrator to make a logo and add that into the brochure. So basically I had to use Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
for this project.

Learn how to mask
Use effects for images
Edit images
Process
I began by drawing up sketches on pieces of paper and then created the flier on InDesign. After my first draft of the flier it was peer reviewed by three people. After
the peer review I went back and tweaked it up even more. I created big bold lines
at three different areas in the document to create interest and visual flow. I also
have some white space at the bottom left to help the picture feel less crammed.

Description
I wanted to show an employer my photo-design skills. So I made a flyer for saving
squirrels. Where the colors are listed at the bottom is where I would put some
contact information. But I was really going for getting peoples attention and then
if they were interested they could look at the smaller contact information that
would be at the bottom of the page.

Objective
Learn how to edit photos
Process
I used Photoshop and my own picture for this project. First I chose a color scheme
and took a photo to match that color schemecomplimentary. I watched a few
photodesign tutorials and made some shapes and edited my photo. Then I had 3
people critique it. One was a Comm130 student while the other was a CoMM major. Then I went back to the Spori lab and learned out to outline my text since its
the same text but just filled with teal.
