Automated HDR Image Capture Progress Report

The progress report summarizes the work done on an Automated HDR Image Capturing System over the past month. Several major milestones were completed, including establishing connections between hardware components like the camera and microcontroller, developing an independent power supply, and programming the microcontroller to send and receive packets from the camera. However, in testing the ability to change shutter speeds, the software caused system crashes. As a result, the team is now developing a program on a PC instead of the microcontroller to control picture taking and shutter speeds for the camera.

Comment/Question/Difculty:
Over the weekend we ran into a major problem with the software development. We were able
to jump ahead with taking pictures and saving them onto the memory card of the camera. However,
we were unable to change the shutter speeds. After updating the programs we were able to change the
shutter speeds at the cost of crashing the system. At this point we had exhausted all avenues regarding
the software of the program. he program libraries contained too many bugs and problems to help
with our progress in this project.
After talking with the instructor he gave us the possibility to write a program on a pc and see if
we can look into other avenues with different professors on campus. After exploring three different
professors, they each had no knowledge or ability to help us out. We are currently developing a
program on the computer to take pictures and control the shutter speeds.
