The document contains income data sorted by gender. There are 88 females and 62 males in the sample. The females earn less on average than males, with 95% of females earning up to $40,000 annually and 95% of males earning up to $60,000. The income distributions are right-skewed for both genders, indicating most employees earn lower incomes. Measures of variability show the annual incomes of males have a higher range and standard deviation compared to females, though their interquartile ranges are similar.

Based on the cumulative percentage frequency stated in the table above, approximately 95%, which is
95.16% of male employees earn up to $60,000 anually and approximately 95% which is 95.45% of female
employees earn up to $40,000 annually. The income level is different for the two groups of gender. Male
employees earn approximately $20,000 more than female employees.

Both the percentage frequency polygons for males and females are unimodal. Besides, both the
percentage frequency polygons are skewed to the right. This shows that most of the employees
(male and female) earn low income, i.e. less than $40000.

The range of annual income of male is higher than female because there are no female
employees earning from $61,000 to $90,000.
The standard deviation of male employees are higher than female employees. This indicates that
in absolute terms, the income of male employees are much more variable than female employees.
The interquartile ranges (IQR) are similar, at about $12000, although male employees' middle 50%
of values are between $13570 and $25480, while female employees' are between $12930 and
$24530.

Textbox (j)
The standard deviation, range and interquartile range are all just slightly higher
for Betown than for Aville. B has a higher range since A has no-one in the
$200000-$210000 class. The interquartile ranges (range of the middle 50% of the
data) are similar, at about $64000, although Avilles middle 50% of values are
between $42000 and $106300, while Betowns are between $103700 and
$168300. The standard deviation is $41600 in Aville which is very similar to the
value $42700 for Betown. This indicates that in absolute terms the incomes in
Betown are just a little more variable than in Aville.
(iv) Coefficient of variation for Aville: 54.31%
Coefficient of variation for Betown: 31.72%
In contrast to the other measures of variation the coefficient of variation is much
higher in Aville than in Betown. This is not surprising since the coefficient of
variation is a measure of relative variability (standard deviation as a percentage of
the mean) and the mean income in Aville is much lower than in Betown.
