Dan Quakenbush created 3D renderings of an Italian villa property using VizTerra 3D modeling software and Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. The renderings included an entry area with Italian cypress trees, a Tuscan courtyard, a spigot water feature pulling users down the path, and a front rest area for waiting or reading. Additional areas rendered were a dining pergola with privacy and a water feature, a waterside bar pergola for grilling and relaxing, and a covered outdoor living space for entertaining with a fireplace and grilling area. Property entry
In this rendering I wanted to create the feeling of a
grand entry to a personal Tuscan villa. The Italian cy-
press give the space a feeling of enclosure and the recti-
linear soldier rows bring an element of visual interest to
the driveway entry.

Tuscan courtyard
Along the side of the house I wanted to bring the feeling
of an Italian courtyard. I wanted this area to stand out,
and be a space of interest, not just a simple transition
zone to the backyard.

Spigot water feature
This area is designed to draw the user down the path
directly to the door. The linear lines of the small water
feature in the ground pulls the user down the path.

Front rest area
This area is designed to be a simple space for visitors to
sit and wait, or for the homeowner to read the mail on a
beautiful summer afternoon.

Dining pergola
The dining pergola is designed to give privacy with a
rustic wall on one side, a large beam wooden structure
overhead and a small water feature on the wall to give
the dining area an enjoyable ambiance.

Waterside bar pergola
Can you imagine grilling a few burgers under the per-
gola, catching a few rays on the deck and watching you
children splash into the water of the lake? This area
is designed for maximum enjoyment, your family and
friends will love hanging out here all summer long.

Covered outdoor living space
This area is designed to entertain, simply put the large
grilling area, the outdoor furniture and the custom pav-
er fireplace will help draw you and your children away
from the electronics and help them come alive outside.

Recreating the campfire
The fire ring and the pool work together as they cre-
ate space that the homeowner will use. The turf area
in between ties the two areas together and creates a
balanced and unified back yard.

Spa and pool with a view
The Italian cypress give the pool the needed privacy
while still maintaining the necessary privacy for a pool.
