Target Audience Analysis for Thriller Film

The audience for the media product would primarily be 18-24 year olds as the main characters are also in that age range, allowing for greater relatability. A secondary audience would be 40-49 year olds interested in the film noir aspects and how times have changed. Females overall would make up more of the audience than males as the thriller opening suggests female dominance and challenges generic conventions, with females able to relate to both young and old characters represented. The target social class would be middle class (C1-C2) as it has sophistication but low budget appeal, similar to successful shows like Sherlock and films made by Warp Films.

8emales will #enerally be more of the audience in our thriller o enin#' as they can relate to both )*e and (o hie who are shown as *ery different characters re resentin# different time eriods' and therefore may mean that females of all a#es are more a ealed by the o enin#' as the older a#e #rou s can relate to )*e' and the youn#er a#e #rou s can relate to (o hie, 9ot only that but females may be more of suitable audience as our thriller o enin# su##ests female dominance for most of the o enin#, Which challen#es the #eneric con*entions of a thriller as usually they su##est male dominance' meanin# that males not be as keen to see our thriller, (o o*erall' the audience for our thriller is definitely more so females than males,

Social Class
The social category of our thriller opening would probably be C1-C2 as its a low budget film, and as its aimed at an alternative/ niche audience then it may also be appealing to the B social category !lthough it will mostly appeal to a middle class "C1-C2# audience as its $uite a sophisticated opening, which can relate to educational and meaningful T% series, for e&ample CS' and Sherloc( which are all aimed at the middle class audience and represent intelligence which can be associated with aspects of our thriller as the audience has to wor( out the cliffhanger, which is the general thriller convention of a build of tension leading to a cliffhanger

Social Class
! lot of other low budget films have been successful through the middle class audience as they tend to be based on real life issues and therefore the audience can relate to the opening a lot easier )&amples include This 's )ngland and Submarine which were both made by *arp +ilms, and were very successful through the middle class audience
