PART I.
STORE DESCRIPTION
The business that I have decided to do is DH Sporting Goods. The store is located at 2013 Murcott Drive the building is 3000 ft2. The Store will be segmented into three sections in these sections they will include a variety of items. They will be put into sections according to the different sport. Some of the items we will be selling are football, baseball, and basketball gear. We will be selling most to all of the people who play these sports. We also will be selling customisable clothing such as Under Armor t-shirts, sweatshirts,and sweat pants. Also we could customise our Nike brand basketball shoes you can put your name and number on some of the clothing items. Our target market would be people from the [Link] area looking for sporting apparel. The age of people in which we would be trying to sell to would be people of the ages between 16- to 50 with an average income of about $42,064. We would be reaching out to people within a 35 mile radius. People any where from [Link], Sartell, Waite Park, Sauk Rapids, St. Joseph, Stearns County, and Benton County. The populations and the household income are listed below:

PART ll. PROMOTIONAL OBJECTIVES
August 2014 Tangible Objectives: 1. Increase overall sales of by 3% form August 2013 2. Increase the sales of Under Armor apparel by 4% from August 2013 3. Increase the sales of baseball equipment by 5% from August 2013 4. Increase Nike Shoe sales by 3% from August 2013 Intangible Objectives: 1. Improve customer services/relationships 2. Improve image in the community These objectives are important to my business because if we improve overall sales by 3% that means. We are getting more people through the doors. It it will help people interest in my business, and because of this we would make more money. If we increase sales of Under Armor apparel by 4%. We can improve the quality of clothing that we sell and also we could get new clothing opportunities. Increasing the sales of baseball equipment by 5% could mean that the people who have previously bought from us may be repeat customers, or they could have told others about my store. Increasing the sales of Nike brand shoes by 3% could be a major opportunity for my business. We could have opportunities like making special types of shoes for teams, players, or even just everyday people. The intangible objectives will help improve the overall image in the community. It could also increase the customers fondness of the store and the people who work there and help them choose the right product. Which may entail more people coming to the store and buying our products. But more importantly it could bring back customers, and repeat customers are some of the most important things to keep a business going well.
PART lll. SPECIAL EVENTS
Event #1 Date: Every Friday Throughout the Month of August Athon 5 Football Punt-
This promotion will be going on every Friday throughout the month of August. In this promotion the contestants will have to punt a football the entire length of the parking lot (35 yards). If the contestant does this he or she will be rewarded with a $50 gift card to our store. By doing this it would help get more people through the doors. By having more people come through the doors, it will help our objective of increasing the overall sales of everything in the store, and hopefully reach our goal of increasing overall sales by 3%. Event #2 Date: The First Week of August (1st-2nd) Baseball Hunt
In this event we will be hiding one baseball in our store, marked with our stores logo on the ball. If one of the customers finds the ball they will get a 15% discount on all of our baseball equipment in the store. By having this promotion it will help us reach our goal of increasing the sales of baseball equipment by 5%. This willt help introduce new people to our store. Event #3 Date: The Second Week of August (5th-9th) Nike Shoe Week
From the 5th through the 9th everyone who customises a pair of Nike shoes will get a 10% discount. Hopefully with this promotion people will bring their business to our store. With new people coming to our store it could bring in new people and help with our objective of increasing sales of nike shoes by 3%. Event #4 Date: On The 13th of August Under Armor Day
Through the whole day all Under Armor apparel is 30% off. With this promotion it will help us reach our objective of increasing the sales of Under Armor apparel by 3%. It will also help help us get more people in the store and buy more things. Other than the Under Armor apparel. Event #5: Throught the Whole month of August Ask a Worker month
There will be more people working in the store helping people find what they need. Our workers will have an outfit dedicated to this week to let people know who to ask. This will help us reach our objective of improving overall customer services/relations. Event #6 Date: 19th Through the 23rd of August Community Service Week 6
One day in the week workers from my store will go out and pick up trash on the side of the road. Every worker will be required to do at least 2 hour during the week. By doing this it will help us reach our objective of improving our image in the community.
PART [Link]
Closed Display We will have a closed display of our easton baseball bats this will include 4 of our most expensive bats that we have to offer. The bats will be put on a rack in the case to show it off it will also have a light to showcase them. This display will show off all of some of the fine baseball bats that our store has to offer. Also it will help our promotion of the baseball hunt by making more people take an interest in our batting equipment The display will be set up the first week in August 2014 the 1st through the 3rd, and will be taken down on the 3rd. Open Display Our open display will be an end cap at the end of the basketball aisl it will include a one custom Nike shoe with shoe related items like shoe laces . It will help our promotional objective of Nike shoe week by having more people see that we are having the promotion and have an interest in buying some of our shoes. The set up date will be the second week of August the 5th through the 9th, and will be taken down on the 9th. Point Of Purchase Display In the front of our store we will have small soda coolers and a small stand with gum chapstick, mints, football baseball and basketball keychains, along with a variety of candy bars. This will help our promotion of increasing overall sales in our store. This display will be set up in the beginning of August and will be taken down the last day in August. Architectural In the middle of my store we will be setting up a batting cage so customers can try out new bats that they might have an interest in. We will also have one of our trained employees their helping out the people who will need assistance in what kinds of bats/batting equipment 7
they would need. This will help our promotional objective of improving customer relations and also help another objective of selling more baseball equipment. It will be set up on the 12th of August and taken down on the 21st of August. Exterior Display We will have a promotional window display in the front of the store that you can see while you are walking by the store and as you walk in. We will have related merchandise, with the mannequins wearing an outfit of our custom Under Armor. Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and hats that says the store name and also has the store logo on the front. At the feet and also above the mannequin it will say 30% SALE in big bold letters. Telling people who enter our store that we will be having a sale on custom Under Armor clothing. This will help our objective of selling more Under Armor apparel. It will be set up on the 1st of August and will be taken down on the 31st of August.
PART V:ADVERTISING
Ad #1 DH Sporting Goods first ad will be in the [Link] Times from the 1st of August 2013 through the the 2nd of August [Link] reason we will be doing this medium is to get out the word of our baseball hunt promotion. We will be using a quarter of the page (3 columns x 11 inches=33 Column Inches) for two days which would be 66 (column inches) X $36.40 (Daily Rate) = $2,402.40. The ad will promote our stores promotion of the baseball hunt, it will describe the sale 15% you would get if you found one of the hidden baseballs in our store. Ad #2 The second advertisement we will be advertising on KXSS because the male demographic matches up almost the same to the people we are trying to sell to. Also because it is a sports radio which would make the most sense to advertise on sense we are a sports team. We would be advertising our promotional objective of our football punt-athon and the ask a 8
worker month. It will be on the radio from the 1st of the month of august to the 31st of august. It will play 10 times a day for 30 seconds at a rate of $10 (10x$10x31=$3,100). Ad #3 The third advertisement we will be doing is on Rockin 101.7 we would be advertising on it because it would be reaching out to almost the right age group of 18 to 44. Also the average income of the listeners are $50,000 which lines up with who we would be trying to sell to. It will promote two promotions one would be Under Armor Day and Nike Shoe Week. We would be advertising from the 5th through the 13th during the weekdays at 6AM - 7PM with 10 spots a day lasting 30 seconds. It would cost (8x10x$20=$1,600)
Part VII: Responsibility
The employees at DH Sporting Goods are the main reason why we are able to stay in business. Without them it would be just an empty store with no customers making no money. The employees keep a safe environment for all customers shopping in our store and help them with all of their needs. They also help set up the store and make it look nice for the customers.
