MICROENCAPSULATION INTRODUCING NEW FIELDS Of APPLICATION fOR POLYmER ADDITIVES
TARGETED MATERIAL DEVELOPmENT
Only additives produce materials from polymers [GIT-technical journal (2002)6, 714] and just by encapsulation additives can be optimally adapted to the material and functional [Link] compatibility with the polymer matrix, control of availability as well as protection from the environment can be optimized by encapsulation with linear chain or network forming polymeric wall materials.
Thereby complete services are offered: from the development of an additive, matrix and application specifically adapted microencapsulation and compounding process to the morphological and mechanical characterization of composites.

Since their commercial introduction in the Seventies the micro encapsulation of active sub stances for controlled release -applications or for the protection of the environment from these materials is being practiced successfully. Microencapsulated agents were preferably applicated as aqueous suspensions. In previous years there has been an increased demand for applications of microcapsules in the material sector, parti cularlyin thermoplastic and thermoset polymer materials. The present tasks include for instance:
