FAIF Announces Keynote Speakers for 2014 Florida Health Care Affordability Summit
Heavy Hitters & Thought Leaders to Headline Upcoming Summit Agenda Tallahassee, Fla. The Foundation of Associated Industries of Florida (FAIF) today announced its keynote speakers for the upcoming 2014 Florida Health Care Affordability Summit, which will take place at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Fla., January 29-31, 2014. This years keynote speakers include: Wednesday, January 29, 2014 Welcome Reception Keynote Speaker: Arthur Agatston, MD, Author of The South Beach Diet Dr. Agatston, best-selling author of The South Beach Diet, is known for numerous revolutionary ideas that are leading physicians and researchers to new territory in the fight against cardiovascular disease. In 2012, he joined Baptist Health Medical Group as medical director of Wellness and Prevention.
Thursday, January 30, 2014 Breakfast & Opening Keynote Speaker: Paul H. Keckley, Ph.D. Dr. Keckley is a health industry analyst and policy expert whose career spans four decades in health care. He is a frequent commentator in national media coverage about health reform, author of The Keckley Report and a columnist for Hospitals & Health Networks, the flagship publication of the American Hospital Association. Lunch Keynote: Nancy M. Green, Managing Principal, Verizon Healthcare Green is a health care managing principal with Verizon Healthcare, the health care practice group within Verizon Enterprise Solutions. In this capacity, she focuses on strategic business development around innovation in health care, as well as the development of solutions and initiatives to address virtual care/telehealth, m-health, home health and converged wireless mobility. Reception Keynote Speaker: Adam H. Putnam, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Commissioner Putnam was sworn into office on January 4, 2011. In this capacity, he oversees the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and serves as a member of Floridas Cabinet. Commissioner Putnams priorities include fostering the growth and diversification of Florida agriculture; expanding access to Floridas abundance of fresh produce, seafood and other products; securing a stable, reliable and diverse supply of energy; protecting the quantity and quality of the states water supply; and safeguarding consumers from deceptive business practices.

Armstrong, MD, FACS, Florida State Surgeon General Dr. Armstrong was appointed by Governor Rick Scott as Surgeon General and Secretary of Health for the State of Florida on April 27, 2012. A graduate of Princeton University, the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Dr. Armstrong believes that education and training are drivers for change. Closing Keynote Speaker: David Chenoweth, Ph.D., President of Chenoweth & Associates, Inc. Dr. Chenoweth is president of Chenoweth & Associates, Inc., an international health data analysis and econometric consulting firm. For the past 34 years, he has conducted corporate and community-based health promotion program evaluations for organizations throughout the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia and Jamaica. In addition, he has conducted economic cost analyses on physical inactivity, obesity, diabetes and other risk factors for the states of California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas and Washington.
