ROBB ADVANCES AUSTRALIAS INTERESTS IN TPP TALKS


Substantial progress has been made in advancing Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) negotiations but improved mar!et access remains fundamental to Australia"s negotiating position# Trade and $nvestment %inister Andre& 'obb has (ust returned from a four da) TPP %inisterial %eeting in Singapore involving 12 participating countries# *This &as a ver) productive four da)s and &hile potential landing +ones have been identified for a number of outstanding issues the negotiations remain a &or! in progress , %r 'obb said# *$ have been clear from the outset that Australia is ver) determined to see an ambitious mar!et access outcome in fact it remains fundamental to the successful completion of negotiations#, Australia is see!ing a comprehensive outcome that includes better mar!et access for our agricultural commodities commerciall) meaningful outcomes for Australian service providers and investors as &ell as improved rules regarding global value chains# TPP members represent -0 per cent of global .DP and Australian e/ports to member countries are annuall) &orth around 0100 billion 1 33 per cent of our global e/port trade# %r 'obb said it &as disappointing that there had been a considerable amount of deliberate misinformation circulated about Australia"s supposed negotiating positions#
