Assigment N 2 Example Essay
All that glitters From cradle to grave clothes are with us in every moment of our lives. Clothes are not only for dressing, it also protect us from cold and heat, and is a human way of expressing ourselves. The clothes making have been developing in a complex and varied way, because it represents the feelings and thoughts of each civilization. The way in which people dress is one of the most important aspect in the globalized world we are living nowadays. Multiple psychological studies say that women choose their clothes according to their personality or mood state. In this way, the cowl makes the monk we are what we dress. But, people react towards us based on the image we project, according to the way we dress.
To begin, for example people consider that when you dress in a formal way, neatly, you are better than other people. People think that you have a good social position, a high wage, and you are an important person. It means that people judge you because of your image. When we take care of our image, choosing carefully what clothes to wear, we show that we respect ourselves as human beings. The other people will respect us if we act in that way. Another example of these is when you dress in an untidy way, disheveled, without make up, with old clothes, people will consider that you have not a good social position, and you do not have work. Person realizes that you will have the same attitude at work and with your obligations. When you are walking in the street and a person with these characteristics comes near you, the most common reaction is to continue walking, thinking that probably, the person is a thief. But, if the person who comes near you is dressing in a formal way, you may probably pay more attention to him. Either one or the other may well be burglars, regardless of what clothes they are wearing. Still another example of the social prejudices about the clothes was shown by a TV program in the USA. A man goes to a snack bar, a little shop, an appliances store and to a luxury dealer during some weeks dressing different clothes. In the first day he dresses as a hippy, in the snack bar he is attended in the correct way but with no more details of the products, in the little shop he receives the same attention but the man in charge of the shop goes after him all the time, in the appliances store he receives the information he asked for but the seller dont spend a lot of time with him.
Some days later the man goes again but dressing a suit and with a woman. In the snack bar and in the little shop they receive a correct attention, but the cattleman treated them as you, in the appliances store the seller shows them the products catalogs and ask them for their telephone numbers, and in the luxury dealer they talk with the seller for more than twenty minutes. Finally the man goes again to the same places, but this time he dresses sport wear when he comes back for running. The treatment that he receives from the four places is very distant in comparison with the previous ones. The way of dressing is one of the first things in which we pay attention of to judge people, but before the eyes of God it does not matter what clothes you are dressing, if you have a lot of money or only the money you need to survive. At the dawn everyone gets up and goes on routine without giving importance if you are going to dress a suit or an old clothes
