Mr. Knightley visits Emma at her family's mansion and teases her about her monthly allowance from her father. When Mr. Woodhouse arrives, he is pleased to see that Mr. Knightley has been keeping Emma company. Mr. Knightley urges Emma to encourage Harriet to accept Robert Martin's marriage proposal, but Emma refuses, believing she is guiding Harriet away from a mistake. They argue about Emma interfering in Harriet's personal matters. MR. KNIGHTLEY Oh, Emma youre in good humour this afternoon, Has your father given you your monthly allowance? A grin spreads across Mr. Knightley face, and Emma sticks out her tongue at him.
