A big thank you to everyone who participated in our Back to Church Celebration on September 22nd!

Thank you to the children for singing beautifully, for all the congregation and guests who attended and a huge thank you to all the wonderful people who helped make this a great event. And an extra thank you to Richard Clement, Rick Fritz, Emil Lwakatare, RJ Bruce, Thomas DeVries, Ben Wilking, the Assimilation board (Sarah Crawford, Logan DeVault, Kelly Lwakatare, Anitha Sanayagam, Ashley Wilking) and the Outreach board (Becky Dutter, Patricia Hickman, Kelly Kluth, Alexa Moritz). This was our first big event and we are pleased with the participation from both the Church and the School. Weve learned a lot and welcome any comments or suggestions you might have. Blessings, Jennifer Bruce (Outreach Chair) & Elizabeth DeVries (Assimilation Chair)

Renovation Project Update

Renovation Update - Our Appraiser has finished his preliminary work and can value the areas in scope of renovation at just over the twice the value of our improvements. With a margin of 2% he is able to document this value because ironically, the demolition of those rooms back in June are a material change from what he documented in May, and the demolition helped our valuation! Without having demo'ed the rooms ahead of time, we would not be able to have the higher "in use" valuation that we now have today. Completely unexpected benefit, but one that is welcome none-the-less. The team will be working with VLK Architects on Thursday to start proof in detail the submissions to the City permitting office while we wait for the official report from the Appraiser at the beginning of next week. RenWeb Tip #4: School Documents and Directory

Need to contact your childs teacher or look up something in the Parent-Student Handbook? You can find that information on RenWeb! The Directory in the School Information section on RenWeb is broken down by Student, Parent and School Staff, so if you need to get in touch with one of your childs teacher, or put together an invitation list for your holiday party, you can find all the information you need on RenWeb. The Resource Documents, also in the School Information section, contains everything from the current Parent-Student Handbook, to the school calendar and other important documents that you might need throughout the school year. This is also where you can find the current, and past, copies of the Panther Press. Coming up next weekthe Photo Gallery!

Want to "Go Green?"

Have you been wondering, Who is that guy at the front gate on Fridays? Hes Pilgrim Lutheran Church member, Charles Percy. Charles salvages valuable metals from broken electronics and appliances. He accepts almost anything with metal in it, like TVs, VCRs, DVD players, fax machines, computers, monitors, microwaves, small kitchen appliances, anything with a power supply, power tools, old car batteries, window AC units, aluminum cans, you name it! Items may be dropped off at the parking lot gate on Fridays before and after school, or your may contact Charles if you have a large item that needs to be picked up.

Charles Percy - 713-202-8340

Not only does Charles help out by giving you and place to take your junk but he also recycles all of the metal from the items brought in, and he donates ALL of the proceeds back to Pilgrim Lutheran School. Look at all of the products with Box Tops for Education! Dont throw those labels away! They really add up and it is FREE money for the school!
