SA Preparation tips Chapter 1-2 , popular architectures of IE or Mozilla.

Lec 9-Last , Linux Architect, Andriod system, tablet architect -appreciate layered architecture , pg 58-59-60 Message sequence diagrams, 69,69, error handling between patterns, 1-4 T1.. SA [Link]

Q ) How does he expect answer in exams ? Ans:He said , he would prefer answers to have CRC,Block diagram , Object diagram , Message Sequence diagram wherever possible. Q) Do we have Air Traffic Control ,chapter 6 & A-7E Avionics System ,Chapter3 for mid seem exam? Ans: This is not covered in the lectures and is not required for exam but it is good to go thru it ,so that u have an upper hand if any example wrt avionics is asked in the exam. Q)Can u solve one problem and show, to know what is the expected format of solving a pattern in the exam Ans: He said he doesn't plan to solve any example or rev year question paper. Acc to me this gives an hint that his style of setting paper will be very different. Q) A give problem can be solved using different [Link] will we be able to know which one is the correct one to be picked up? Many question papers ask for team size, can u please give tips on how do we come up with a number? Ans: Using the info he has taught we should be able to compare and contrasts various patterns to decide this. Team size he hasn't taught so it is unlikely to get such a question Q) Can u explain a more about the 6th step in implementation of pipes & filters on page no 64 ? And: It is d overall design and putting all parts together. Below are somethings he mentioned himself.. He said Learn about context,problem & solution and revise :) System Quality Attributes is important and understand in detail. Business qualities and Quality attributes of architecture not in too much detail. Message sequence charts for Microkernel and Reflection architecture is important to understand in entirety. It is a base for many other parts of SA. SEWBOK,chapter3 good to have a reading.

Layers is important to understand in entirety He stressed on understanding of a pattern and not on which pattern to apply. which indicates that Domain knowledge will not be impudent to answer the questions !! More example reading for every pattern is good to do and Master level answering is expected. 4 patterns are imp from exam point of view. Layers,pipes&filters,microkernel and reflection. And need to concentrate only what he has taught. He wouldn't be asking much from what he has asked us to read on our own. Broker he said is important pattern but not for this mid-sem exam. Error handling is an important and his favorite topic Hope it helps and happy studying !!
