Finding Articles
Compendex OhioLINK Research Database (1980-) and Compendex Historical (1884-1979) This database is a comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering database, the electronic equivalent of the print Engineering Index. Coverage is the entire spectrum of engineering, in depth, with abstracts from over 2,600 international journals, conference papers and proceedings, and technical reports. Updated monthly. For help using this index, use the library guide titled OhioLINK Research Databases using OSearch. Applied Science and Technology Abstracts OhioLINK Research Database (1983-) This database indexes 411 core English-language scientific and technical publications. Topics include engineering, acoustics, chemistry, computers, metallurgy, physics, plastics, telecommunications, transportation, and waste management. NonEnglish-language articles are indexed if English abstracts are provided. Coverage includes trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals, as well as special issues such as buyers' guides, directories, and conference proceedings. Updated monthly. For help using this index, use the library guide titled OhioLINK Research Databases using OSearch. Science Citation Index Expanded OhioLINK Research Database (1980-) This database indexes approximately 5,900 major journals across 164 scientific disciplines. Some of the disciplines covered include: astronomy, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, medicine, pharmacology, physics, plant sciences, and zoology. Use this database to trace research by a particular person or to discover articles that cite a particular persons work (cited author search). For help using this index, use the library guide titled Using Citation Index databases from ISI.
