Increased Efficiency The key to creating quality branded presentations is consistency; consistency of design and consistency of application. A key brand touch point which requires a high level of consistency for Goldman Sachs are client facing documents and presentations. All Goldman Sachs presentations are formatted to strict guidelines by their Presentation department ensuring consistent application of branding as well as streamlining costs and creating significant time savings. Each day Goldman Sachs creates hundreds of presentations. Each Goldman Sachs presentation is formatted to a consistent look and feel. After client meetings these documents live on as examples of the quality of Goldman Sachs work. Goldman Sachs found using graphic designers for presentations was costly, time consuming, and delivered poor consistency. Training banking teams assistants to format presentations proved inefficient, yielded poor consistency, and was cost prohibitive. The solution was to extensively train a small number of specialist presentation staff and create a Presentation Centre in each large regional office. As bankers produced all of their data and pitch materials using Microsoft Office, this became the presentation centres design package of choice. No presentation was allowed to leave Goldman Sachs unless it had been sent through the specialist staff at their presentation centre. Removing presentation assistance from a bankers assistants job allowed assistants to support multiple deal teams reducing assistant headcount and support/administration costs. Running costs of presentation centres are carefully recorded and rebilled to clients where the pitch is successful, markedly reducing their operating cost. The time and cost saving benefits of presentation centres led to universal adoption at top tier investment banks and professional service firms. How do we know this? We were there!

2006 In 2006, Right Aligned was contracted to run a pilot remote global presentation center at a premier executive search firm. Shanghai, New York, Paris Three offices were chosen to participate in the pilot; Shanghai, New York, and Paris. These offices were selected because they: Were in different time zones Had differing work cultures and local languages Had no Right Aligned staff present >2 times longer 80% of pilot service users reported Right Aligned completed presentations at least twice as quickly as they could. The remaining 20% of users noted they did not have the skills to complete the requested task.

Right Aligned employs an on-the-job training methodology. This approach ensures a focus on educating users on the best practices relevant to their templates.
Our methodology differs from traditional Microsoft Office training because it concentrates on teaching users how to follow the corporate style guide within the confines of Microsoft Office.

Why is this Approach Important? Teaching someone how to use the features of Microsoft Office without relating it to the templates they use is ineffective. It is similar to explaining the features of a car to someone without starting the engine and demonstrating them whilst driving.

So why is the Template so Important? Correctly created templates contain all sorts of timesaving features that most users would love to implement but sadly have no idea how to find. What We did? Our team created a custom program which would allow a centrally controlled server to deliver content to all consultants within the firm on a daily basis, (if required). When a computer was switched on, it would automatically check with the central server for any content updates. It would then update to their local machine, and consultants could then add those folders to their favourites for quick access.
