WALT DISNEY TELEVISION INTERNATIONAL (INDIA)
Television is a key brand driver for Disney in India. The combined reach of Disney channels is over 50 million homes with Star Den as the exclusive distribution partner. In July 2006, The Walt Disney Company acquired Hungama TV, a 24-hour Hindi language Disney India is also focused on localizing its international franchises by making them relevant while engaging its audiences in their stories and characters.
Role of HR Since the company is a media company ,the HR acc. to me plays a very key role in the following areas : The programming department that is in charge of making new programmes. The Affiliates and distribution department that is in charge of the affiliation of the company with different distributors for the programmes. The Advertising and Sales department that is in charge of the advertisements of the different programs introduced on the channel and its sales. These particular areas need the following functions: Ability to attract and retain talented people Quality of management Quality of products or services Innovativeness Since the above functions are the core areas of HR , the HR plays a very important role for the organization to achieve its goals.
