is a construction firm. This company is

falling currently in category 4 which can participate in the tenders amounting up to 5 carore. This company is doing the projects of national bank of Pakistan. The projects which are going on NBP Township Lahore, NBP dry port Lahore & NBP Jinnah hall branch Islamabad. Mr. Yahiya complete his associate diploma in civil engineering from government technical college Faisalabad in [Link] the completion of his diploma he cannot continue his studies due to financial problem in family , then he join the AL-AHMED TRADERS (construction company) .For the period of nine years he provide his services to that firm and got a reasonable experience. In 1995 he planned to begin a business in partnership with Mr. Ashiq Hussain Company named NOBLE ENGINEERS and continue with him up to 2003 then he left the company due to a dispute and resultantly bears a heavy loss.

In October 2003 he registered his own construction company named UNIQUE ENGINEERS with a total capital of 2.5 lac. The short of finance is the only hurdle at that time. The competitors include Bukhush Construction; Sikma Engineers; Khawar & Nadeem Co. and Al-Hamra enterprises. Unique Engineers face heavy competition with these companies in every tender. The competitive advantage of unique engineers is their goodwill which they made after a long struggle and hard work. UNIQUE ENGINEERS core value is to provide quality service and timely completion of projects. The company has an edge of his team of skilled labor & has its own machinery.

Unique engineers are its in growing stage and if he continues with the same pace soon it will become the Category 1 (C-1) company which is the aim of Mr. Yahiya. The hurdle which is usually faced by the Unique Engineers is that Government clerks want a commission which is totally a corruption; if any company opposes them then they make the procedure of passing the tender long or usually delayed the payment. The main issue is that if any one tries to complain about their corruption then that clerks use their resources and black list the company. Currently Mr. Yahiya is planning to take a stand against this system and trying to forward the situation to upper level of the management. Another hurdle which is faced by the company is the short of finance. We suggest them to take the loan from the bank , but he replied that the markup rate is very high which is not affordable by the company.

Recommendations

Mr. Yahiya is taking a good stand against the corruption but he should use the media to tackle this kind of system. He should also try to raise his finance in order to compete in the market.
