THOUGHTS FROM BRAD
Hello everyone! I HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT WEEK. We have a special need to make you aware of. I want to encourage all our congregants to try out our new chair models in the parlor. We realize in this endeavor that some of you will love the chairs, while others will not. It will be extremely difficult to find a chair that satisfies everyone. But believe me, you will enjoy these chairs much more than the hard blue metal chair. We need several of you to step up and purchase at least a chair for yourself as we seek to improve the seating in our fellowship hall. The entire membership benefits from your generosity. These chairs will not just be used for our second worship hour, but for dinners, class parties, anniversary and birthday celebrations, congregational meetings, etc We really want to improve the look of this part of our building and this is one simple way to do so. Some of you are capable of purchasing more than just one. Please consider that possibility. This church has always been generous. Lets prove that once again! Attention men! Dont forget these two dates March 19-Cabelas trip to Polaris. We will leave at 5 p.m. for dinner and a night at a great hunting and fishing supply store. Join us. Be sure to sign up in the coat room. March 21-Men and Boys dinner. We will leave the church at 5 p.m. for a great night of fellowship and spiritual challenge. Please consider bringing your sons with you. Be sure to sign up in the coat room. Have a great week. Brad

SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY:
We are, currently, involved in a series titled Friends of Paul. This week, March 17, our character study is on James, Our Lords Brother. On March 24, we will look at Silas, The Team Player. If you are not involved in a small group on Sunday evenings, I encourage you to join us. Communion is available for those who desire. Once again, I remind that we now have activities for children each Sunday evening.
WEDNESDAYS: We will not be meeting this week, March 20. The two groups (10:00 AM and 6:30 PM) will resume on March 27. At that time, we will begin a study of the book of Philippians. Why not join us for the new study? SENIOR SAINTS IN THE SMOKIES: Its time to think and plan for this grand event! It is held on the Johnson University campus, in Knoxville, TN. Some of us have been participating for over 20 years. We will be attending May 27-31. It is a great week of inspiration and relaxation for seniors. (I call it summer camp for seniors.) If you have questions or would like registration information, see me!

The next few weeks until Easter, we are learning about the last few days before Jesus Crucifixion. Last week in Childrens Church, we learned about the Last Supper. Jesus knew what he was about to do, so he decided to meet with his disciples and have one last meal. Can you imagine what that must have felt like for him? But before they joined together at this supper, Jesus did something very odd! He washed their feet. Washing feet was something that he servants did, not King Jesus! So we did both of these things as well last Sunday. We want to fully understand what happened before, during and after Jesus death so we will do our best to learn during these next few weeks! Join us! Hannah

Worship begins with recognizing the greatness of our God. God is not worthy of our praise because of how He blesses us, but because He is God. We can (and should) praise God at all times, regardless of circumstance. David indicates here that worship is a way of life, a life of ceaseless praise. He also demonstrates how the outgrowth of that life of praise is evangelism. When we love God and see His greatness we will share that praise with others who will recognize Him and join the chorus. Come, let us tell of the Lords greatness; let us exalt His name together!

BASEMENT CHAIR-LIFT REMOVAL The chair lift which was intended for use by people going from the Fifth Avenue level to the basement has been removed. Our Trustees decided that the lift was more hazardous than helpful as it crowded the steps and no one was really using it. Additionally, our local Fire Marshal gave it only marginal approval and the state inspector did not give official approval. Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace-based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).
Church Health and Biblical Balance
Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)
Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).
Fellowship and Ministry
After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.
How Can I Respond Today?
At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member.
Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.
Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
OUR PURPOSE WE EXIST TO
Exalt Gods Greatness; Evangelize Gods Work Equip Gods People Express Gods Love through Jesus Christ
