Creating a Visual Representation Shakespeare uses figurative language, vivid description, and strong diction; you will create a visual representation of his writing that conveys the essence of what Shakespeare wants his audience to understand and envision. 1. Choose one of your favorite annotations. 2. On the back of your annotated passage, you will visually represent the language and the significance of the passage. You may use: Collages (cut clips of images, works, letters, etc.) Hand drawings Images from the computer Symbols Pictures to creatively reenact the scene Any other way you can show the important aspect(s) of the passage. You DO NOT want the visual to: o Be boring (make sure its appealing and relevant!) o Be a movie still or picture from a movie/play (its too literally and that isnt a representation) o Be colorless 3. Make any necessary revisions to your annotations. I especially will check for the speakers main message/significance to the play, and the purpose for the figurative language youve identified in the passage. Refer to your pink annotation sheet for more detailed directions on this.
