Negotiation:
-There are 3 modes of negotiation required in contemporary electronic marketplaces (e-
Marketplaces), in which all types of business-to-business (B2B), business-to-customer (B2C) and
customer-to-customer (C2C)
-We are going to search for the following 2 types:
Business-to-consumer
Business-to-consumer (B2C) describes activities of E-businesses serving end consumers with
products and/or services
Consumer-to-consumer
Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) electronic commerce involves the electronically-facilitated
transactions between consumers through some third party. A common example is the online
auction, in which a consumer posts an item for sale and other consumers bid to purchase it; the
third party generally charges a flat fee or commission. The sites are only intermediaries, just there
to match consumers. They do not have to check quality of the products being offered.
Comparison of
design boom’s existing and the previous information of web
2000’s 2008’s
Categories 2000’s 2008’s Remarks
Flea market √ X Design boom’s flea market is a C2C business mode which
between users only. The user can sell their goods through this
system.
But it’s estimated it may cause serious overhead costs as
they done using email or traditional communication technology
such as phones or face-to-face meeting.
The existing web change to have “Shop” and “Mart”
instead of Flea market.
It’s seems that much more advantage is discovered of using
B2C business mode for design boom.
Shop √ √ Estimated reasons/ Advantages:
●Shopping can be faster and more convenient.
● Offerings and prices can change instantaneously.
● Call centers can be integrated with the website.
●The management of the website and the selling method
would be more unified
●Customer would have more confidence on the quality of
products.
●To ensure there are no second-hand products sold in the
website and tort problem.
Mart X √ Design boom marts are a promotion place for the group
exhibitions. Mart visitors can purchase intelligent, useful
and quirky items for a symbolic price.
“Mart” provides an unprecedented opportunity and a physical
place to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with
their work. Designers have the opportunity to meet and discuss
with customers, manufacturers, distributors, and press and
museum curators.
Therefore, The Mart provides a medium of communication
for interested group.
It’s estimated that design boom decide to be a communicate
website in the future.
It’s also discovered that some design aerobics courses’
project went on to participate at the marts.
There are much more connection and communication of
content between different part of design boom website now.

√ X There is “trend guide”, “play on design”, “trashy interiors”
Entertainment
and “interior” included in “Entertainment” part of previous
design boom website. It’s seems to contain different kinds
of design’s information, for example, shoes trend, interior
design.
The existing web now does not have an entertainment
part. But it’s estimated that it convert the format to
“contemporary”, “blog” and “Design-Aerobic”
Estimated reasons/ Advantages:
X √ ●It maintains certain orderliness in different kinds of
Contemporary
design materials/information by grouping in
“Contemporary”.
●Design boom decide to promote e-learning. It can point
out that these 3 main categories are designed for
X √ information searching reason.
Design-
●Design-aerobic now offers many online education
Aerobics
courses for people.
It seems design boom use the network to deliver training
courses to achieve the aim of e-learning.
●Design-aerobic replace the entertainment element as it’s
X √
Blog(RSS) courses is a kind of entertainment, just like “play on
design” in part of “entertainment” in 2000’s
●The new Blog (RSS) function appears to be more
active for e-learning because of more updated content, a
wide coverage, and abundant types of design information.
Categories 2000’s 2008’s Remarks
√ X For the “Zoon” part in 2000’s, it includes “education”, “report”
Zoon
and “short essay” and “snapshot” part. Now, most of the small
part of “Zoon” is independent.
Estimated reasons/ Advantages:
●The organization method of part to “Zoon” is not clear.
People may consider it difficult to know the meaning of “Zoon”
●The existing web now has main categories for e-learning which
instead of “education “part.
√ X
Exhibition ●”Report” and “short essay” are replaced by “Book Report” and
“Blog” now.
In 2000’s, “Exhibition” is an independent part which contains
gallery and information of each exhibition. And there is a
“snapshot” part in “Zoon”.
But the existing web combine the entire photo gallery into new
part “Snapshots” which be separated.
X √ Estimated reasons/ Advantages:
Snapshots
●People can find it much more easy to understand the location
of different kinds of photos are grouped to “Snapshot”
●The format of “exhibition” convert to “Mart” which is a new
part to promote the entire exhibition.
Categories 2000’s 2008’s Remarks
Agenda √ X It’s known that “Agenda” part is included in 2000’[Link] are
“fan club”, “city guide” and “calendar”.
It’s seemed that pervious design boom website focus on
a certain group. Also, it originally only has one language
version (Italian) which is a part of Europe. But now, design
boom
Seems to expand its business by increase its readership.
Estimated reasons/ Advantages:
●Through the readership distribution. Design boom’s main
Language Italian Korean& readership comes from Europe. To expand the business,
Japanese they decide to include new language version” Korean&
version Japanese” which is a part of Asia.
●From this new year, Asia’s design rapid develops, such as

of language version shows their expectation of expanding
business.
●A new part called “Competition” is included in 2008’s. It’s
suggested that design boom expect to attract different

Competition

masses now.
