As you already or may not know “SUDS (Sustainable drainage


systems) is a concept that includes long term environmental and
social factors in decisions about drainage. It takes account of the
quantity and quality of runoff, and the amenity value of surface
water in the environment. Many existing drainage systems can
cause problems of flooding, pollution or damage to the environment
and are not proving to be sustainable.” – CIRIA

I’m Mark and I’m in my Final year at the University of Ulster,


completing my BSc (honours) degree in Construction Engineering &
Management.

As part of my research for my dissertation “A Guide to SUDS in small


medium to large scale housing developments” I will look at the
advantages and disadvantages of SUDS and a number of other
areas regarding, to come up with recommended drainage solutions.
I have produced this questionnaire to collect data from professional
body personnel.

It would be a great help to me to get as much feed back as possible.


You will be acknowledged by myself in my final write up. Any further
