If anyone would like to say hello or meet a member of the team, to discuss any policing issues, please call in & see us on Sunday 10th February. Don't forget it's going to be the year of the Snake. Take care from your Neighbourhood Police Team.

Commercial / China Town

Castlefield / Spinningfields

Several rough sleepers sweeps have been carried out throughout the week, when officers have advised numerous individuals and referred them to appropriate partner agencies. Good work PC Semple & PCSO Hannan! Another positive result was when GMP City Centre arrested a suspect of the recent domestic burglaries who subsequently admitted to offences committed in the Castelfield area. We appreciate the assistance of everyone who has participated in completing our quarterly surveys. If you would like to take part in the next round please get in touch with us and we will add you to the list for the next round. Upcoming event next week is the Leftbank Apartments Surgery on the 4th February between 6.30 and 7.30pm at No 12 Reception.

Good news is that Dylan Stratton, one of the local street drinkers was arrested and charged this week for two accounts of breach of his ASBO. Recently there have been an increased number of car breakings in the area and officers on patrol keep spotting belongings and valuables being left on display. Please make sure it is not you next time and hide it away! We have organised a Police Surgery event at Cafe Nero, Piccadilly Gardens, on 3rd February between 1200 and 1300 hours. This is a chance to meet one the local NBOs and raise any issues or simply meet and chat.

Piccadilly / Northern Quarter

Village / Southern Gateway

Some good news in the area this week! On the 28th January there were reports of thieves at New York New York on Bloom Street in the Village. Village & Southern Gateway Patrols attended and detained a male on suspicion of Burglary. On the 30th January, the offender appeared at Manchester Magistrates court, and the Offender was remanded into custody and will re-appear before the courts on the 12th February via Video Link. On the 29th January, PCSO Moffatt and PCSO Brookes were patrolling the Village area when they stopped a known offender on Sackville Street. Later that evening, there was a knife point robbery and the offender matched the description given by the victim to that of the male the PCSO's had stopped earlier. Plain clothes officers located the known offender who still had the property on them that belonged to the victim. Overall a good week for GMP!
