This lovely evening of February 11 is one of the most awaited high school event in our lives as studentsthe Juniors-Seniors
Turn-Over Ceremony. A few moments ago, the key which symbolizes the school and community responsibilities of the seniors was entrusted to you, beloved juniors. In a few more weeks, dear juniors, your job will be to continue the unfinished tasks we will leave behind as we, the seniors, will discover new doors in our respective fields which leads to greater challenges, bigger duties and responsibilities, greater leadership, and serious studies, commitments and dedications. We, the seniors, really find it sentimental to bid you goodbye and at the same time wish you good luck. Four years of staying here in high school, which we consider our second home, is indeed full of joyful and sometimes painful experiences, inspiring and challenging memories, light moments coupled with serious and peer pressure problems. These are just some words that would describe our mixed emotions and colourful experiences that contributed in helping us to become what we are and who we are today still striving to become academically competent Canossians sharers of Gods love and brothers/sisters of the poor. We have encountered many things as fourth year students which are all worth reminiscing : Academically -- the mind-boggling math and physics problems, the never-ending revision of research write-ups, the over-lapping powerpoint presentation reports and projects, the sleepless night preparing, and for others cramming, for exams; the exciting and gruelling contests inside and outside the school side-by-side with activities and meetings here and there. Socially, the pressure not to break the records as cheerdance champion, over-all Intrams champion and most peaceloving level; the nervous tension to win the final and our last interdisciplinary contests; the inspiring youth conferences and festivals; the exciting Teachers Day-Off; the moving parent-child encounter; the meaningful outreach activities like Gawad-Kalinga; the strenuous and backbreaking Kiddie Care; the adventurous outbound education in Mt. Banahaw and the spiritual formation and activities we have gone through like the unforgettable retreat/ YE in Tagaytay which became bonding moments for the section, the regular CCD outreach as prepared and sometimes unprepared catechists to public elementary graders... All these, as our song says : Everything you saw played a part in everything we are in our heart... To my fellow seniors, our high school life is almost over thirty school days from now, but the values, knowledge and skills we developed and imbibed, the friendship we built, the memories we shared and the legacy of love we will pass-on will still remain and we will cherish forever. As for now, let us all be grateful for all our achievements big or small; lets congratulate ourselves for we all have been doing good and great to make our senior year as fulfilling as we want and as meaningful as we make it. To the juniors, in behalf of all the seniors, I wish you Good luck and Gods blessings as you assume the responsibilities of being the next Ates and Kuyas for the school year 2011-2012. Allow me to quote from our song: After you clear your eyes, youll see the light somewhere in the darkness. And before we start the ball rolling, let us THANK the special persons who have been a significant part of our high school life our beloved advisers, teachers and staff who served as our second parents in the school; our administrators and dearly-loved sisters for their unending patience, support and assistance. We have beautiful memories to cherish and treasure because of what they have done and sacrificed to form all of us. Thank you and let us enjoy the rest of the evening !
