Why Obama won again?
Barack Obama: The Successful Leader:
Obama was the first African American who was elected as the president of the Harward Law Review in 1990. He laddered to the success by winning Illinois state senate in 1996 and senate election in 2004 against prominent African American Republican Alan Keys. Obama has knack for rousing peoples attention. He proved this when he delivered speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. On 27th July he took the podium and began speaking about his idea of country without racism and fear.
Traits Might Barack Obama Posses That Contribute To His Strong Leadership Ability: Personality traits:
Ambition Desire to lead Honesty Self-confidence Dedication Gracious, Considerate Highly divisive debates
Intellectual traits:
a. Sound knowledge in his own field of work. b. Skill and Expertise c. Ability to self monitor about oneself.
Physical and Social traits:
a.) Stamina and energy to do his own work b.) Patience to listen to all views before expressing ones own.
Barack Obama is a charismatic leader, who know what to speak and when is the right time (owing to his acquaintance in law). He has a great vision (as had been seen in the campaigns.) He set high performance expectations. He conveyed a new set of values. Thus Obama is a transformational leader. Integrity
Integrity is the act of keeping to your personal morals or ethics. Malcom Friedberg wrote about who he thinks Barack Obama is and why he thought he should be president: .that's the man I want to run my country: the man who has the courage to do what's best for all of us, and not to compromise because it provides him with some short-term gain. Show me the man that will risk losing the election because he won't compromise his values, and I'll show you the man that deserves the right to be called the President of the United States of America. -from Barack Obamas Integrity by Malcolm Friedberg
Caring:
In my opinion, one of the most difficult tasks that any world leader will face is balancing time with their two major obligations; the population that they are leading and their actual family. There's no hiding the strong bonds between the members of the Obama family; the family reserves time for a sit-down dinnertime every night. Barack Obama is certainly a family man; he's seen in public all of the time with his loving family. Additionally, Barack Obama is committed to creating universal health care in America. This shows that the health of the individual American is one of his top priorities.
Confidence:
With the 2009 inauguration, [Link] inherited two wars, one of the worst economic disasters in American history, and a multi-trillion dollar debt. President Obama has displayed that he knows how to inspire confidence in people, and he will have to if the United States is going to make it out of these challenges intact. President Obama attacks the economic recession daily, creates new plans to counter the U.S. debt, and has already put his troop withdrawal and distribution plans into action. The American people must know that the government is working hard so that they can gain trust in the Federal government once again. Obama knows the true meaning of leadership: to encourage the American people to act for a common purpose because they want to. Here is a phrase that President Obama used in one of his recent speeches: "Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin the work of remaking America"
Vision:
President Obama is a visionary thinkinghe thinks BIG! Anyone can hear and feel in his presentations: President Obama has a huge vision for the future. The challenge has been for the President to scale that big vision down into steps that can be taken today so that we can all see that he is indeed moving in the direction of that vision. It is easy for visionary leaders to get lost in the future without looking at today, and if re-elected, it will be important for President Obama to speak about what he plans to do today and how those steps, if repeated over time, will create a stronger future for our country.
Cognitive Style:
He has a style marked by a capacity for complex thinking and analytical detachment and a preoccupation with seeking evidence.
Mindful Decision Making: A deliberate decision of Mr. Obama was to surround himself with people that don't necessarily agree with his views. This way, the President will gain different perspectives on difficult issues. If his cabinet were to contain people that constantly agree with him, he could make purely 'Obama' choices all of the time, and the right decision might not always be made- nobody's perfect.
Obama strengthen and success as a leader:
Attention Grabber. Knows how to make the best use of any opportunity given. eg: speech he spoke about his idea of a country where there is no racism and fear. A country not lead by politicians born in wealth, and then he spoke of his own background, which exemplifies diversity in many ways. He is self aware and most importantly has the ability to tie his own experiences into a political speech in which he portrays himself as an ordinary citizen, speaking for the general public.
These are some traits and behavior of Obama for his succession again.
