Step 1. Why? Project management is strategy to improve the results you get in a project.

Life is built on series and parallel projects that develop progress in certain areas. Learning project management will help me complete projects faster and with better results. I want to complete assignments faster and get better scores on them; this is why I am interested in project management. I also want to bring in great results for my future employers (and myself). Step 2. Knowledge Construction. Most activities I do are projects. They are a unified collection of tasks that lead to a reaching a goal. Project management is a strategy that I can apply to my projects in order to reach my goals with the best results in the quickest way. possible. This strategy will help me reach my goals so that I can move on to other projects. Step 3. Application.
Current Use of PM: Arduino Twitter Project

Step 1. Goal Generation: 1. LCD will display Twitter posts with the use of Ethernet Shield. 2. Easy to customize for different internet connections and Twitter accounts. Step 2 and 3. Current Tasks with Decomposition: Kaleb: Diagnose wiring for Ethernet and LCD. See if bugs can be removed from code. Alex: Work on Project Management Team Portfolio. Manage Portfolio and Team tasks. Gillette: Look for mechanical drawing assembly possibilities. Prepare PowerPoint Pecha-Kucha. Step 4. We are all working to meet team goals. Step 5. Regular Meetings We have been meeting regularly (about 15 min) to discuss what the current state of the project is and decompose tasks. Then we have some longer meetings where we work on the technical parts of the project. (End). Project Completion has not been reached yet. Step 4. Iteration. Loop back to steps 1 to 3. Three most important things I learned about Project Management: 1. Learn to have efficient meetings. There is no need to waste time with talk. It is important to be focused on delivering results. That is why it is important to try to allocate our time to completing tasks. 2. Assign owners to tasks. It is very important that there is an owner assigned to each task so that person (people) will have a sense of responsibility for completing that task by the deadline.

3. Assign deadlines to each task. This will help you hit all the bugs early on in the process. You want to arrive at the end of the project having a hard time thinking of anything left to do. Three most important things that I learned about Learning Cycle. 1. It is probably most important that you ask the question, Why? before starting any project process. This will help you align your actions with your goals and motivate you to reach the goal state. 2. Knowledge Construction is important so that you do not reinvent the wheel. Look for similar problems or simpler problems that you can solve first. Although KC takes time, it will save your time in floundering about during the project process. 3. Applying the learned knowledge from KC is the only way to get it nailed down. For example, knowing F=ma is helpful only if you know how to apply it (what is your system, assumptions, etc.)
