FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OCTOBER 23, 2012 SAFF CANADA SOUTH ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL VANCOUVER SURREY - ABBOTSFORD Vancouvers indie film scene just went a little more international. The new SAFF CANADA SOUTH ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL announced today a new program, the FIRST SAFF Canada Industry Forum Day. The event will take place Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, from 1:00 pm to 5:45 pm. SAFF Canada welcomes the opportunity to bring together international and local film artists to share stories, and accumulated wisdom. With the calibre and range of our international guests confirmed for SAFF Canada, we felt we had an outstanding opportunity to create networking gatherings, and occasions in order to introduce our guests to the talented and vibrant local industry. Said, SAFF Canada C0-founder and Artistic Director Hannah Fisher. The SAFF Canada Film Forum Day welcome local success stories Nimisha Mukerji Blood Relative and Karen Lam Stained - both who have parlayed their short film success into thriving film careers who will speak to Maximizing Your Short Film in the World Market. The Its All In The Accent Actors Toolkit Panel hosts Indie Casting Director Maureen Webb as she moderates a session with local working actors Veena Sood and Zak Santiago about building and maintaining a vast repertoire of accents in order to secure work in Vancouvers film & TV market. Kicking off the day, however, is the first ever Working With India panel which welcomes a host of Indias film industry heavyweights to talk to the local market about building international partnerships. The Festival provides a platform for superb cinematic programs from South Asia, and opportunities for professional networking between Canadian and South Asian film artists, via the collaboration of BC Film + Media, the Directors Guild of Canada-BC, the Canadian-BC Film and TV Production Association, and Hungama Mumbai. SAFF Canada South Asian Film Festival opens on October 31st with the gala screening of Adwait Sangeet Two Voices, One Soul.
