PW6101 OSDP Support Guide
Version 1.1 2016
What does Pro-Watch exactly support on OSDP?
OSDP is a reader to controller protocol based on RS486 topology benefitting
from the specifications such as 1200 meter max distance between reader and
controller, provided proper cable is used and power distribution observed.
• The OSDP protocol at this moment is only supported with PW6K1ICE,
or PW6101 controller family, and with limited functionality.
• Reader connects using RS485 topology with the Reader.
• Readers with and without display are supported.
• RS485 Multidrop is not supported by the Access control panels.
• Through Pro-Watch Triggers and Procedures static text messages
can be send to selected readers.
• It is not possible to program variables contained in the text streams
such as cardholder names.
• Following conditions are reported by the panel
o Reader Tamper and Tamper Return
o RS485 disconnect and disconnect return
Connecting and Programing the Reader
The HID RKLB57 reader was used for testing the OSDP functionality.
Visit the HID website for detailed information of this reader.

Programming Pro-Watch
The necessary programming steps in Pro-Watch are only in the logical device or the designed template.
