2. A shopkeeper in Bengaluru buys a smartphone from a local wholesaler at a


marked price of ₹20,000. He gets a discount of 10% on it. He then sells it to a
consumer in Mysuru at the marked price. If the rate of GST is 18%, find:
(a)The amount of CGST and SGST paid by the shopkeeper to the wholesaler.
(b)The total amount paid by the consumer.

3. A manufacturer in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) sells a laptop to a dealer in Salem


(Tamil Nadu) for ₹40,000. The dealer in Salem sells it to a consumer in
Hyderabad (Telangana) at a profit of ₹5,000. If the GST rate is 18%, calculate:
(a)The tax paid by the manufacturer.
(b)The Net IGST payable by the Salem dealer

4. A trader buys a washing machine from a manufacturer at a discount of 25%


on the marked price of ₹30,000. The trader sells it to a consumer at a discount
of 10% on the same marked price. If the rate of GST is 12% and the
transactions are intra-state, find the Net GST paid by the trader to the
government.

Banking
1. Amit opens a Recurring Deposit account in a bank and deposits ₹800 per
month for a period of one and half years. If the bank pays interest at the rate of
10% per annum, find the total interest earned and the maturity value of his
account.
2. Kiran opened a Recurring Deposit account in a nationalised bank for 2 years.
If the bank pays interest at the rate of 9% p.a. and she receives ₹23,730 at the
time of maturity, find her monthly installment.
3. Mr. Richard deposits ₹1,500 per month in a recurring deposit account for 3
years. If the maturity value of this account is ₹59,220, find the rate of interest
per annum given by the bank.
4. Sneha deposits ₹500 per month in a cumulative (recurring) deposit account of
a bank. If the bank pays interest at the rate of 8% per annum and she gets
₹11,300 at the time of maturity, find the total time (in years) for which the
account was held.

Quadratic Equations

roots. Find the value(s) of the constant p.
3. The hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle is 2 cm more than three times the
shortest side. If the third side is 7 cm more than the shortest side, find the
dimensions of the triangle.

Factorisation of polynomials
1. Using the Remainder Theorem, find the value of the constant a if the
polynomial f(x) = 3x³ - ax² + 5x - 8 leaves a remainder of 14 when divided by (x
- 2).
2. The polynomial f(x) = x³ + mx² + nx + 6 is completely divisible by (x - 3)
and leaves a remainder of 12 when divided by (x - 1). Find the values of
