The Journey Across The Unskippable Woods

(Our scene starts in a valley in front of a forest named “The Unskippable Woods”. Our main
characters, Lilly, Carl, and Soussan are talking in a camp. Soussan and Lilly are fighting
while Carl finishes packing)

Lilly: (scared) But how are we supposed to last that much without getting killed!?

Soussan (while putting her shoes on): We have enough supplies, we have a tent, we have
flares, how are we NOT supposed to get out alive!?

Lilly: But we all have heard the stories about that forest. NO ONE has gotten out alive!

Soussan (starting to lose patience): We can be the exception! We’ve got all that we need.
Also, we don't know if those stories are true…

Lilly (getting her bottle of water inside her backpack): You’re not 6 years old! You know the
risks of getting in a place no human has ever EVEN MAPPED!

Soussan: AND YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TOO TO KNOW WHEN STORIES ARE FALSE!

Lilly: OH YES? WELL YO-

Carl (while unsettling the tent): Girls, stop fighting. Like this you’ll never finish talking.

Soussan and Lilly in unison: SHUT UP!

Carl: Hey, is there any way of going around the forest? Last time we went through the acid
lake.

Soussan: No, it would be more suicidal. If we get to round it to the left, we would have to
pass by the land of the dragons, and by the acid lake we already passed. Our boat was
consumed by the acid lake. We almost died, we got a lot of burns, and I hope you don't want
that same experience again.

Carl: So we have to go through the forest. There is no other option.

Lilly: THAT'S NOT TRUE, WE COULD CONSTRUCT A MORE RESISTANT BOAT AND
PASS THROUGH THE ACID LAKE!

Carl: The acid would still absorb the boat…

Soussan (takes a sip of water): Let’s better vote. Who wants to make a boat and go through
the acid lake?

(Only Lilly raises her hand)

And who wants to go through the forest?

(She and Carl raise their hands)

You see? That's the best option.

Lilly (with a bitter tone): Whatever… If we die, don't look at me… I guess that’s why it is
named “The Unskippable Woods”... You just can’t pass through other paths…

(The trio finished unpacking the camp and gets into the forest)

(The have just walked for 30 minutes when they hear a sound coming from the deeps of the
woods)

?: RAWWR

Lilly (looking about to cry and scared): Wh-what is th-that?

Soussan (with a pocket knife unfolded): I don't know… I say we hide.

Carl (taking a branch from a tree): No, we have to get home in 7 days, if not we will lose the
feast, and people will think we are frauds. Remember our deal…

(The scene fades to Carl’s memory, and they are now in a village. They look 3 years
younger. They are talking to the village mayor named Frederick.)

Carl: Hi mayor, we wanted to talk to you.

Frederick: And that's why?

Carl: It's because we found a cure for the illness that is getting sick to most of the villagers.

Frederick: Really? And what is it?

Soussan (fidgeting with a little toy): That's the reason for contacting you. The cure is a rock
that absorbs the illness, but the problem is that it is on the other side of the country… We
need you to send explorers to Andora valley’s mines, and look for that rock.

Frederick: Do you have any proof of that rock's existence? Also, how are two 13 year old
kids and a 9 year old gonna be telling the truth?

Lilly: Well… we kinda have proof. We have a myths book that talks about that rock, and we
did research and there is a man who found one.

Soussan (whispering): Lilly! You were not supposed to say that it is a myth! He is not going
to accept now!

Lilly (whispering): Oh, sorry

Frederick: Well, well. It was only a myth. Kids, go dream elsewhere. Those myths are not
real. Also, you are only telling lies about that man. No man has ever found nothing similar!

Carl: We are telling that truth!

Frederick: Prove it.

Carl: We- we…

Frederick: See? There is no reason to go and risk the village’s explorers lifes and send them
looking for a non-existent rock!

Soussan (with a defiant look): Well. Give us some supplies, a tent, and flares and we will go
looking for it.

Frederick: Ha! You will only waste time! Ok, I will give those things to you. If you come back
in 3 years for the annual feast, and you have that rock I will make you heroes of the village.
And, if you do not return with the rock, you will have to work for free for a whole week!

(The scene shifts again, and we get back to the forest scene)

Soussan: You’re right, we have to keep walking…

Lilly: B-but we’ll get k-killed!

Soussan: Don't worry, we’ll protect you.

?: ROAAAAAAAAR!

Lilly: AHHH!

(They hear footsteps getting every second closer)

Lilly: RUN!

(They start running just the moment when a dark shape jumps from the bushes. When they
get in a clearing surrounded by oak trees, the monster appears to be a big black dog. The
dog tries to bite Lilly, but Carl sticks his tree branch on his neck. Then, Soussan jumps from
a tree with her pocket knife pointing to the big dog’s head. When they make sure he’s not
moving they sit down exhausted.)

Soussan: Lilly, are you ok?

Lilly (scared to death): y-yes…

Carl: Let’s settle the camp now, it is already night.

(The next day they continue their journey)

Lilly (looking like she hadn’t slept): Didn't you hear tonight’s noises?

Carl (at full energy): What noises?

Lilly: Nothing…

Soussan: Hey guys, I have a problem…

Carl: What happened?

Soussan: Maybe… I… emm…

Lilly: Spit it out!

Soussan: Well… maybe… because… I can't find the rock…?

Lilly and Carl: WHAAT!?

Soussan: I swear it was in my pocket! I remember hiding it last night there! It just
disappeared!

Carl: Oh no… Oh no!

Lilly (running in circles): WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!?

Soussan: I- I'm really sorry…

(Suddenly, a blue rabbit with red eyes appeared with the rock in its mouth.)

Carl: Oh no! Robber rabbits! Catch it!

(The group started running after the rabbit. After running for a long time, the rabbit went into
the forest)

Soussan: Do we follow the rabbit and leave our things behind, or do we pack up and hope to
find it in the woods?

Carl (running): That things aren't ours, they are of the mayor. GO AND TAKE OUR ROCK
BACK!

(They start running, and after 20 minutes another black dog sprints from the bushes and
takes the rabbit)

Dog: RAWWR WOOF!

Carl: Ohno, now how do we get it?

Soussan: Distract it! I’ll go behind!

Dog: Do I look like a stupid? I heard you!

Carl: WHAT THE HELL!?

Soussan: CAN YOU TALK!?

Dog: Of course I can talk! In what place do you think you are? These are the Unskippable
woods!

Lilly: B- But any a- animal has ever ta- talked to us here…

Dog: Because maybe they don’t want to!

Carl: Can you give us that rabbit please?

Soussan (whispering): The hell are you trying to negotiate with an animal?

Dog: Why should I give it to you?

Carl: Because he just ate a very important object of ours, and we need it back! If not, our
entire village will die because of an illness!

Dog: And why should I care?

Carl: Good question…

Soussan: You SHOULD care! All the creatures on earth are linked with some type of magic.
Everytime a species dies, we get affected. That’s why we, humans, care that much about
nature. Because of this. If we died, you creatures would die.

Dog: Why do you say so? There have been creatures that have been killed, and yes, we get
affected, but we never die? Why would YOU be the special case when we DO die?

Soussan: Because we have been the ones that take care of nature. If our country dies, the
other countries would come and end with every one of the species, and you would
eventually die!

Dog: Why would the other countries do that? Don’t they know that they would be killing
themselves?

Soussan: The other countries think that it is all a legend because of the same thing you just
said. They think that they’ll only get a lil affected, but not die. They like to even deny the
ancient magic books for their own benefit.

Dog: Well… I’ll give you this stupid rabbit. BUT, with one condition.
Lilly: Which one?

Dog: That you will let me go with you on this quest of yours.

Lilly: Why?

Dog: I don’t know, it seems fun, and I am very bored just sleeping and eating all day.

Carl: It 's okay! You seem like a nice animal.

Dog: By the way, my name is Alfred, so THIS STUPID SCRIPT WRITER, stops calling me
“DOG”!

Stupid dog: HEY!

Alfred: That’s better.

(As they continue their journey, the sky starts to turn dark. At the end of he day, they finally
get to the village.)

Lilly: FINALLY!

Soussan: YEAAH!

Carl: WE MADE IT!

Dog. EHHH, Alfred: Good!

Frederick: WHAT!? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE!?

Carl: We got the rock. (he showed the rock to the mayor)

Frederick: WE CAN CURE THE VALLEY!

Soussan: Of course!

Frederick: Oh my God! Thanks! I’m sorry for being that rude, you are becoming heroes of
the village!

Soussan, Lilly, and Carl: YEAAH!

Arthur (with a sad tone): I guess I will have to leave now…

Carl: Don’t be stupid! You are staying with us. As village heroes our job is to defend the
village, and discover things that will benefit this place. You will help us a lot!

Arthur (moving his tail): Really!?

Lilly: YES!

Arthur: LET’S GO THEN! FOR ANOTHER ADVENTURE!

Sussan, Carl, and Lilly: YEAAAAAH!

(With happiness they get in the forest, willing to find amazing things, and protect the valley at
all costs. The valley has hope again, and the mayor becomes a better person.)

(Something is sneaking in the darkness gathering power, but no one has noticed. This will be
another story for another day…)
