Interview Script

Background – Success

My name is Yu Pak Hei, Peter. Most recently I have graduated with a Higher Diploma in

Management or Disciplined Services and am now studying part time at PolyU SPEED a

Bachelor of Science in Building Engineering and Management. I have attained some site

experience over the last two years; the first one as a site clerk with China State Construction

and secondly as an Assistant Building Services Engineer. These functions helped me to write

the reports, safety messages/communication with the contractors which were continuation of

the team work and project documentation.

Strengths

My key competence is that I am reliable and safety-oriented, remained under pressure and

always organised. As an assistant engineer now, I have been maintaining and operating

building systems, processing procurement documents and dealing with suppliers. I also know

how to operate MS word and Excel and have some basic skills in AutoCAD required to

create site documentation and simple drawings. Being a bilingual individual, I would have

the capacity to inform the local teams in Cantonese and in English through written

documentation.

Situation & Fit for Crownity

The Building Services Engineer role with Crownity Engineering Limited appeals to me as it

will encompass project operation, planning, supervision and site coordination, which I

already participate in and am looking forward to enhance my skills in. A residential project

involves working with a main contractor so I would be in direct contact with clients,

consultants and government submissions which is exactly what I require to move forward to

becoming a chartered engineer. The practice of the maintenance and preservation of the
quality of the law and energy savings as well as the matter of my educational preparation

makes me attentive to what the law, and the practice in this field can provide me with and

what I can ensure that it can provide me with.

Value to Company

One way I will add value to Crownity is by providing quality on-site support services, correct

documentation and proactive communication with stakeholders. The slogans and safety

writing progress reports have helped me to stay within the details that may possibly prevent

any mistakes and wastage of time. I will be eager to learn more skills about other procedures

of project life cycles, develop my drafting in AutoCAD and help the team to ensure that the

installation will be provided in time and within the budget as per the statutes.

Conclusion

Overall, my combination of higher diploma training, continuing bachelor studies and direct

site experience fits well within the needs of this Building Services Engineer position. I have

the desire to develop with Crownity Engineering Limited, help to ensure quality site

coordination and provide quality building services.
