There are two main types of questions:

• Yes/No questions
• WH- questions

WH- questions begin with words like:


what, when, where, who, whom, which, whose, why, how

They are used to ask for specific information.

Common WH- words and their uses

• What – asks about things


Example: What are you doing?

• When – asks about time


Example: When are you leaving?

• Where – asks about place
