(i) Two reasons for representing real life on graphs:

(ii) Bar chart: Draw bars with heights Mon=2, Tue=5, Wed=3, Thu=1, Fri=4 [3 Marks]

Q2. CONSTRUCTION OF ANGLES [5 MARKS]

(i) Definition: An angle is the figure formed by two rays meeting at a common point. [1 Mark]

(ii) Construction of 60° using ruler and compass. Show all lines. [2 Marks]

(iii) Bisect the 60° to get 30°. Show construction arcs. [2 Marks]

Q3. POLYGONS [5 MARKS]

(i) Definition: A polygon is a closed plane figure with 3 or more straight sides.

Examples: Triangle, Quadrilateral, Pentagon [2 Marks]

(ii) Formula: Sum of interior angles = (n - 2) x 180° [1 Mark]

(iii) Sum of octagon = (8 - 2) x 180° = 6 x 180° = 1080° [2 Marks]

Q4. ANGLE OF ELEVATION AND DEPRESSION [5 MARKS]

(i) Angle of Elevation: Angle above the horizontal line.

Angle of Depression: Angle below the horizontal line.

(ii) tan 45° = Height / Distance

1 = 50 / Distance

Distance = 50m [2 Marks]

Q5. BEARING [5 MARKS]

(i) Definition: Bearing is the direction of one point from another measured clockwise from North. [1
Mark]
(ii) Bearing of B from A = 135° + 180° = 315° [2 Marks]

(iii) Distance = √(8² + 6²) = √(64 + 36) = √100 = 10km [2 Marks]

Q6. STATISTICS [5 MARKS]

(i) (a) Frequency Table:

(b) Mode = 7 [1 Mark]

(ii) Number of students = 120°/360° x 36

= 1/3 x 36 = 12 students [2 Marks]
