Part 1: Introduction & Motivation

applying to teach.
Good day. My name is Janice C. Sotelleza, and I am applying to teach Science for
Grade 3.

Tell us a little about yourself. Why did you choose to pursue a


career in education?
I am a BEED graduate who loves working with children. I chose teaching
because I want to show them there is more than just lessons to learn. I aim
to develop competent students — not just in academics, but also in good
character and behavior.

Part 2: Teaching Philosophy & Pedagogy


• How would you describe your teaching philosophy?
I believe every child can learn well if taught in the right way every child have multiple
intelligences . My goal is to make lessons simple, clear snd understandable for
everyone.

• How do you plan to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure that your
classroom is an inclusive environment for all students?
I use visuals, hands-on tasks, and group work for different learning styles. I keep my class
inclusive, so every student feels welcome and valued.

Part 3: Classroom Management & Scenarios


• Describe how you would handle a highly disruptive student who is
preventing others from learning. What steps would you take to de-
escalate and resolve the situation?
I will stay calm and gently tap their shoulder to signal them to settle down,
without calling their name or embarrassing them in front of the class. Later, I
will talk to them privately to understand the reason for their behavior and i
will set clear expectations, and guide them on how to behave properly.

• How do you keep students engaged during a complex or traditionally "dry"


lesson?
I connect the lesson to real-life situations they know and can relate to. I use simple experiments,
interesting stories like folktales, pictures, and short activities. I also ask questions and let them
share ideas, so learning becomes active, fun, and easy to understand.
If your future students were to describe you in three words at the end of the
school year, what would you want those words to be, and why?
I want them to say Interesting, Compassionate, and Helpful. Interesting because I
make lessons fun and easy to understand for them; Compassionate because I always
care for their needs and feelings; Helpful because I guide and support them in every
step of learning.
